  1. Ok seen some topics of a similar subject but no proper answers so here goes. Today I locked the car with the remote, then on my return the remote was dead. I pulled of the handle cover and unlocked the door, and the alarm went off. Got in and tried to start the car and it said "no key detected" so could not turn off alarm or start car. Nothing in the hand book to cover this aspect. Any ideas? Cheers
  2. Hi, no issues Im aware of. Had mine for 3 years and no problems, and had same box on previous Octavia and Golf estate. Only gripe is last week had the gearbox oil changed (every 4 years I think on service) and cost was £215 on top of regular service. Part of this (£141£) is the kit comprising 4 ltrs of oil and a filter and O ring. But its still a good gearbox so have to cough up and look happy. I'd go for the car
  3. Hi all, further to my recent post on this, and after reading many similar ones, I decided to do as others have done and remove the bag. The tank was single skinned, so bag came out pretty easy. It had not split but there was small black debris in the tank and it was pretty brown and dirty, so I brought a new one and fitted that. Topped up with G12 Evo. After running for a hour or so there is evidence of small amount of the black debris returned to the tank. Not sure what this is but will for now observe and wait. Heater works ok and no overheating. Fingers crossed its ok. Cheers to all who have offered advice, its much appreciated.
  4. Hi Mate, yes my thoughts exactly. It would appear dealers are trying to recoup some of the lock down losses at our expense.
  5. Hi Mate, cheers very helpful. Did you speak to Skoda UK direct? or email them laying out the problem (ie. put it in writing)?
  6. Hi, yes this quote is at our main Skoda dealer. The car is a 2017 and only has 30k on the clock. Cant see how this can take 6 hours to complete. How long did your take? and was that at main dealer? and what was the cost (if you don't mind me asking?)
  7. Hi, yes just had a quote for £850 to flush and replace coolant and expansion bottle. They said its 6 hours fitter time. Can't see how it takes 6 hours. You can take the engine out quicker. Is this taking the ****?
  8. Hi, just had a service on my 2.0 diesel octavia estate. On picking up the car they told me there was evidence the coolant was contaminated, and would need flushing and replacing, along with the expansion chamber. The time they allocated to complete this was 6 (yes six) hours and said it will cost £850. To me this seems very excessive. Is this the garage trying to claw back lost revenue? or is this legit? Would be grateful for some guidance please.
