Hello to you all and thanks for the invite to join,
A brand new Skoda owner here although the first car I ever owned, in 1966, was a Skoda Octavia. Red, four seater and the back end used to bounce round roundabouts if you went round at over 15 mph. Apparently, because they were built to handle the Czech roads which were a lot rougher than ours the dealers, upon import, were supposed to take a leaf spring off each back end setup prior to sale. Mine didn't have this operation hence the bounce. But one evening after a NAAFI dance I have 9 of us in it taking the ladies back to Reading!! The photo is me pantomiming a push one Saturday afternoon. (The only time we were allowed to have our cars on the hallowed ground of the parade square. ) Bought for £185 and sold 14 months later for exactly the same sum.
Now the very proud owner of a Superb Tech Estate with a 67 plate. High mileage but as I don't do much over 6k now per annum I think that'll level out in a couple of years. I am so impressed at the high standard of finish, comfort and ride. Something I'm not sure I would have said back in '66.
