  1. It's what I was thinking when I saw it as well (and it's only a couple of miles from my house!) For those that want to see it in the flesh, come to the next meet - the Ffynon Wen is just along the road!
  2. Tyres :: Tyre Pressure Search May help...
  3. INdustry recommendations from vehicle manufacturers, tyre manufacturers and motoring organisations is to fit new tyres to the rear axel
  4. It can't do any harm to click on the link in my sig, and ask what the best price the site discounter over there can do for you Personally, for MP3, I run a Kenwood HU with the 10GB Keg... probably all a bit old fashioned now, but it's great having 10GB of MP3 on the Keg, and a further 4.7GB on the DVD in the player... or rather, it would be if I had that many CD's!!
  5. Don't worry about seemingly high pressures - my mother's Rover 200Vi runs 38psi all around!!
  6. Many of the Octy's have the 225/45/17 as the oe tyre, and it is a closer match than the 215/45
  7. Even with the Simpsons hints... I still don't get it :(
  8. And how would that have been any different if you had been doing 25mph? Did you slow down to reduce the hazard when you saw the van was going to overtake you? There is nothing more infuriating on the roads than people driving unreasonably slow. A normal week sees me driving 500 - 600 miles, and it's not uncommon for me to cover 1000 miles in a week in my own car, and even more if I have to do any driving for work. Obviously I do this on a variety of roads. Dawdlers at 45mph bug me as much as middle lane hogs when it comes to holding up the traffic, although the worst bug has to be the car that slowed to 22mph (measured on gps) for a series of bends in a 60mph zone, where 50mph is a reasonable speed for the bends (40mph causing traffic to bunch). Just because I travel a lot of miles doesn't automatically make me the world's best driver, however, I do like to get to where I'm going. The comment previously regarding HGV's assisting overtakes or pulling over is something I regularly see on single carriageway roads, and am often thankful for, but also dangerous overtaking manoevers by fed up motorists stuck behind a dawdler who is not paying due care, or not giving due attention to the bunched vehicles behind them wanting to get by is too common a sight. Even worse are those that speed up as you overtake them, only to slow down again when you pull back in behind them! Many single carriageways are passageable at the 60mph limit in modern cars with competant drivers. Skilled drivers will say that speeds can safely be higher. Unskilled and unobservant drivers will say that 60mph is too fast, as they are the ones who will not see the signs (both on posts, and in changes to white lines) informing them of a corner and the severity of that corner, or the junction coming up that a vehicle may pull out of, leading them to enter the situation at a speed a competant and skilled driver would deem excessive. If the IAM instructor is saying that you could drive closer to the speed limits on any particular stretch, then in his observation you are possibly either a) lacking the competance to drive any faster, or lacking the observational skills to determine the changing risks and dangers on the road, thereby not recognising a lower risk area which could be passed at a higher speed. At the same time, there is the coin flip - a) You are aware of the capabilities of the car that you are driving, and believe that combined with your driving skills that this is the top safe speed for the vehicle in optimum driving conditions, or the instructor has failed to spot the "hairpin bend" sign, or the "roadworks ahead" sign, or the change in road markings indicating a sharp bend... ... ... which is where the running commentary would assist.
  9. Well, I managed to carch the late night repeat... Spent most of the episodes saying "that's Callaghan Square" or "that's the Oval Basin".... you get the idea... Thing is tho, I live in Cardiff, and the only time I hear accents like those is when I head to the tops of the valleys...!!! Even so, I enjoed it, but I might be biased seeing as I frequently have to divert my lunchtime walk around their sets!! As for the Range Rover - first time (and second, and third... ...) time I saw that on the roads I was thinking to myself "look at that plonker with too much money and no taste!!" Kinda makes sense in the series!
  10. Wanted to watch this but ended up missing it... ... ... Anyone know if it's repeated anytime soon??
  11. The police won't bother doing anything... When they tried to do me for a crime I didn't commit (truth came out in court!!), when I complained, I was told that they didn't investigate the allegation as, in their book, it wasn't serious enough. Instead, I had to prove my innocence, or face a life changing charge that potentially could have seen me locked up for 6 months! So, I was automatically guilty, until I could prove beyond doubt I was innocent, because the police couldn't be @r$ed to to investigate! So, for an uninsured, unlicensed, untaxed motorist who was driving within the speedlimit (as far as there isn't a speed camera image or "witness" to prove otherwise) at the time of the accident he failed to report, when the police can't be bothered to investigate, what hope do we have?
  12. Horses for courses, but I really didn't get on with the Ultracs when I tried them on my Leon... changed them for GSD3's and didn't look back until I tried some Nero's!!
  13. GSD3 over the PZero Rosso any day!! However... PZero Nero - deffo worthy of thought!
  14. I hate changing cars - yeah I love the new motor, but I hate seeing the previous one leave... ...wish I had loads of money and a nice warehouse to store then in!!! Anyway, if the shell of the Fav is still good, then give it back some youth by converting it into a race car - that is, if you feel the car would like that! (and yes, cars do have feelings!! I had one that cried when it realised I was selling it!! :-o)
