  1. Hello, Awesome GTI in Irlam. I had four wheel alignment carried out by them on my Vrs three years ago and no problems since
  2. Had a cam belt change on my vrs carried out by them 6/5 – fair price compared to other quotes on this forum. The showroom there is now closed but the service part is still operating in adjacent premises. This was my third visit to Loders Dorchester and on each occasion I found them to be faultless. They have restored my faith in the brand following earlier experiences with Skoda Luddites in Manchester.
  3. My Octavia Vrs had a 30,000 miles service and MOT carried out at Loders Dorchester recently and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. The car was ready on time, I was kept fully informed, they found a fault I had not spotted with a sensor (repaired under warranty), everything that should have been done had been done, top up oil and screen wash left with documentation in the car and the staff were great. I can’t fault them.
  4. I saw a Mk2 Austin Cooper S I sold in 1974 darting round Altrincham Cheshire a month or so ago. I doubt other than the rear number plate there was much left of the original though. It was certainly a lot faster than it used to be.
  5. Re Stoofa's comment: "You'll find that a good majority of Xenon's that dazzle are after-market ones" - I travel frequently between Manchester and Dorset, usually in the hours of darkness. I can say, if Stoofa is right and he may well be, there is a heck of a lot of people who must have after market Xenon’s and they are a serious nuisance, particularly on the winding dark Dorset roads.
  6. I have owned my Octavia Vrs for two years, purchasing it new from CLAYBANK. During my ownership I endured the incompetence of Henry at the point of sale, the dismissive nature of CLAYBANK management when I returned the third time to have defects rectified and what could best be described as the debacle that is their customer service department. I intended buying a new diesel Vrs estate when my present agreements ends and have steadfastly refused to leave CLAYBANK in spite of their continued abuse of my loyalty. My latest visit to them (May 09) has left me doubting my sanity by staying with them. There are two sides to every story, good luck. I have had enough.
  7. I recently took my Octavia in for its first service. When it came back I noticed that my wipers went to intermittent when the vehicle stopped. I’ve convinced myself they didn’t do that before and the software upgrade Skoda carried out during the service included this feature.
