  1. I have a Skoda Superb 2015. Three years ago the changing of the battery fixed a problem whereby, after driving for upwards of 20 minutes, with the stop start activated, the engine would cut out as expected but would take several attempts to restart causing jams, stress etc. Also when stopping the engine during a long drive the same would occur but would eventually start. Starting from cold even sub-zero there was never a problem. Immediately on changing to the new battery (the old one was factory fitted and 13 years old) the problem ceased. The problem has re-appeared over the last two months. The new battery purchased in early 2023 is an efb096 start stop battery from Halfords. They have diagnosed the battery health as fine. Is this a common or known issue?
  2. Yes, short journeys often. Mine has only 54k on the clock. Mainly 5 miles, park few hours, repeat. Occasionally a long run. as it happens was driving Watford to Leeds last weekend and it slipped into limp mode after kicking down. Had a yellow flashing yellow coil warning light. Got to destination, parked up, next morning good as gold and no warning light.
  3. Good morning all. I have a 2015 Superb estate diesel. I noticed recently that either when forgetting to turn off the automatic stop start button or when turning the engine off after a journey and the car is warm it won't start again sometimes for a good one or two minutes. This is obviously awkward when you are sitting at a junction and the world is stuck behind behind you. Does anyone have any ideas what the issue might be here please or if anyone has experienced a similar fault.
  4. So I popped the space saver wheel in the well, popped the tools in a sturdy canvas shopping bag and laid it in the well. Sorted. No rattles no cost.
  5. I have a 2015 Superb estate. After two punctures I bit the bullet and purchased a space saver wheel. It came today with a jack and wheel brace. The old old foam insert obviously is no longer suitable. I think I need some kind of insert to sit inside the wheel in which to store the brace, jack, towing eye etc (to stop rattling etc). I am struggling to find something suitable (I missed the opportunity of buying a ki) so need to source an item . Looking for suggestions if possible please. or do I just get a canvas tool roll?
  6. Silicone. I like that. Not too much stripping down. the cluster is definitely the prime suspect. It has been off twice for re-sprays. thank chaps.
  7. I too have a tow bar but can’t see that being my issue. I dried it out yesterday and during a downpour I checked and saw a trickle coming from the rear near side area. Interestingly my insert gets swamped as does the wheel well. Would love a solution as DIY investigating would entail taking off a lot of trim which history shows would mean it wouldn’t go back properly.
  8. I have a 2015 Superb estate with water gathering in the boot. I appreciate water will find the least path of resistance. Mine appears to be coming in via the rear near side so possibly the light cluster. It had a respirator after a knock so perhaps it was removed for that job. is there a way of sealing the cluster? I read a thread that suggested making holes in the lower part of the well. The advice I am seeking is this please. Are we talking about drilling holes and if so do I need to treat the holes to prevent corrosion? many thanks in anticipation.
