Diesel? Which country?

I am still waiting on the diesel Octavia from mid April 😅 In December i got a call from the dealer. He said that the car will be ready in the first few days of February(delivery in the end of January to Slovenia)... but honestly i don`t believe them anything anymore There is probably even more people waiting from february, march...

I guess if anyone ordered a diesel car, they can expect up to 1 year of waiting time xD... Everything else is getting done quicker I talked with a few dealers in my country, and all said pretty much the same thing: EV, hybrids and petrol cars - 6 to 8 months (less for EVs and hybrids) diesels - 8+ months I ordered in April and still no informations, but saw a few cars that arrived here and all of them were petrol/hybrid cars I asked why, but didn`t get the answer xD

LoL It`s amazing how some dealers know just about everything about your order and some have 0 informations... 🤔 And i am even more amazed that some people wait 3 months and some almost a year for the same exact car. Where is the logic behind that? 🧐

Same sh!t at SPC Škerjanec... minus that they "dont even know" if the car is already finnished(waiting for parts) or still in the queue! I still cannot believe that they have such a bad communication with buyers. 😞 Also i don`t believe in the story of missing parts delaying production, since some people that ordered after me already got their cars with much more complicated builds. It just doesnt make any sense... And if you follow the Octavias in stock here, most of them are hybrids?!? Maybe the story about Co2 is true

Canton is also removed from the configurator in my country (Slovenia)... And not just that, heated seats are also out (can only be added in package options), and i am pretty sure that when i orderd mine there was a lot more options available 🙃 Now when i configure the same car that i ordered in april (without heated front seats for 210€) it costs 1418,3€ more than it was back then 😁 So if i include heated seats that is 1628,3€ more than 7 months back

Good news for @peshetoman and @weehappypixie... 😊 I also think that they are finnishing hybrids and those with bigger price point 🙃

Which dealer?

LoL that costs like 50-60€ , but they are for sure extra good I know a guy who works as a salesman in WV and he said that they earn so much on the new cars that they could give a person a lot of " valuable gifts" only if they wanted 😞. Otherwise they can take them (not all of course) or get the bonus on their sallary cause they sold the car and didn`t gave the buyer any extra gifts xD That`s why i pushed hard on my dealer for those "extra gifts" ... @weehappypixie yeah i am thinking the same 😞

Maybe in your countries you can buy it from the stock... Here that is not possible Even before April (when i ordered mine) the stock was low (only a few RS ones). Now they have 1 Octavia RS and few combi version (mostly with 1.0 and 1.5 engines). I hate how combi versions look so that is not the option for me 🙃 I was also trying to negotiate on the price but they said it was imposible to lower it even by few €... so i changed the metod of negotations and asked to get few items that they are offering (coupons, free services, vignette). In the end i got a few items in the total value around 1000€... Not much, but better that nothing

I just got a call from my dealer and an e-mail from a supplier for my country... He told me that the main supplier(which sent me an e-mail) got an e-mail from Škoda Auto a.s. about the cars that are not being produced on time. Basically they just informed the supplier that they are not building cars on time, and that they need to prepare the customers for the new delays 😅 In the mail i got the same old story about semiconductor shortage, and them not knowing when the car will be built/finished. At least they kind of informed me... and that is the first info i got since 12. April Oh and the dealer told me that they will "probably" have more infos at the end of September(whatever he meant with that) 🙃

What a sh!t show with Octavia... 🤦 Finally some good news 👍😁 When did you order it?

When i first contacted some dealers in my country they all told me that 10% is the amount i had to pay so that they can order the car... That was somewhere in february 2021. Later on in april when i finally decided to go for Škoda Octavia, they told me that 200€ is enough After i asked why is now just 200€, he told me that after the semicondutor issues they no longer take 10% because if they don`t deliver you the car in time they have to return your deposit plus the interests ... ( if you choose not to wait longer). Waiting period is 6 months xD, and i am already 3+ months in with 0 informations

What am i trying to say is that i understand the "chip shortage" thing... but i don`t like the fact that someone is getting the same car in 2 months and i must wait 3x more time (and our countries are pretty close) Anyway Octavia looks and feels great... and i am prepared to wait a bit longer @DropBeari was also looking at Kia and other brands... and after a while i had to choose between Octavia and Mazda 3 (both sedans) But since Mazda has only petrol engines i decided that Octavia is worth the wait

Yes 6 months is the period of the contract we signed, but they also said that i will need to wait around 4-6 months to get the car :$ And if the chip shortage was the only problem, then nobody could get the car in less than 2 months... while others are waiting 5-6 months or even more like @skodafan99 said Whatever the reason is ,it is madness to waith 6 months for the car

LoL xD How is it possible that waiting periods are so different? I was told that waiting period for any Škoda Octavia(doesnt matter which one i choose and what extras) is around 6 months(4months if i am lucky) ?!? And i contacted all the freaking dealers in my country, all said the same Now out of 3 people: 2 are getting it in 2 months or less 1 in 5 months

Has anyone ordered a car in april? What was the waiting period?

Orderd mine on 15.4.2021 (they told me that the waiting period is up to 6 months) and just sent an e-mail to the dealer to see if he has any new informations... @GregB11xwhich dealer?
