Hi All, Many be a stupid question, but I’ve had the oil low warning light appear on my 2.0 PD BKD engine (no DPF) so I checked dipstick and oil was indeed low. (Must be the worst dipstick I’ve ever seen to read). I've topped up by 0.5l of correct oil as the manual states but for all I can tell the dipstick now appears to be above the max limit. Does anyone know the difference between min and max on a bkd (no dpf) and if I should be worried that 0.5l could take it from min to max. There is every chance I’m just reading the dipstick wrong as it's a very poor design. Thanks.

Apologies if this is in the incorrect place, I am new to posting here. Having only recently taken a first step into the VAG world, I was playing about at removing my radio head unit (Nexus?) in my Mk2 Octavia pre-fl when I came across this wire which appears to have been cut off, stuck rather crudely above the head unit (See photos). The wire leads down to behind where the climate control panel is but my inexperience with cars stopped me from looking into it further. The car has had many previous owners to it is entirely possible something was installed and hence removed. Does anyone know if first this wire is important (as I’ve not stuck it back in the same position) and secondly if this is factory fitted, or a likely modification which has subsequently been removed? Any extra advice on installing a Bluetooth receiver and identifying this radio is much welcomed. Thanks in advance -Haol

As of yesterday, I am the proud owner of a new (to me) Skoda Octavia II L&K 2.0 TDI PD. I’ve found lurking on this website very useful already so thought its worth getting involved. Looking forward to posting many a confusing and poorly worded query about my inevitable challenges as I plan to tastefully modify the car to bring it into the 2020’s My lack of searching ability will become quite apparent soon enough -Haol
