Dear All,
Sorry to start a new topic but my searching hasn't found me an answer to my problem.
I recently changed the cambelt on my 2011 Octavia vrs 2.0 TDI. After the change, it started up and ran perfectly. Later, I watched a video on the cambelt change that recommended rotating both the cam and injector pulleys clockwise before fitting the new belt. As I like things to be just-so, i stripped the car again so that I could refit the belt with the pulleys rotated clockwise as the video had recommended. Before doing anything I locked the crank, cam and high pressure fuel pump. I am sure the locking pins were fully inserted as they go deep and I'd already done the job once. With all 3 pulleys locked, i loosened the bolts on the cam and injector pulleys, untensioned the belt, slipped the belt off, rotated the cam and injector pulleys clockwise, re-fitted the belt, tensioned the belt, torqued up both pulleys and then removed the 3 locking pins. I rotated the crank as a precaution, re-checked tension and put everything back together.. Now the car will start first compression but immediately stops and won't run. It starts first compression everytime but immeditaly cuts out. I have removed all the connectors that are removed as part of the cambelt change, checked voltage is going to them and cleaned them for good measure. Fuel flow from both the tank pump and the pump that primes the high pressure pump seem fine. I have run out of ideas. Could anyone please help me? Having been chuffed to have successfully changed the cambelt the first time, I now feel like a failure..
Thanks to all in advance!
