  1. Good luck with the delivery date , I was quoted 26 weeks last April , finally turned into 10 MONTHS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ie Mid January / early Febuary , So gave up So if any one is thinking 170 Elegance , silver , onyx leather , heated screen , give Motorpint Dartford a call , cos there is a build slot week 2 2012
  2. Thats it , deed done , Yeti cancelled (tomorrow),170 Sport Tiguan on drive Sat week , fully loaded , inc tow bar ,6k miles , and same price as new Yeti. Skoda, get yr act together !!
  3. I lifted this from my input to "delay payment" thread , but is relevant to this thread "We ordered on the 24 April , and to be fair were told of the long delay “ about 26 weeks “, but then silence , we gave it a while then prompted the dealer on more than 1 occasion for some feed back on order acceptance ,a return call each time was promised , but nothing . We went into the dealership after about 6 weeks , and low and behold the order had been accepted the week before . then silence again A visit about 3 weeks ago to see if any updates were available ,a call was again promised . STILL WAITING " I have just had a terse conversation with the dealer (13 SEP) , and am now given wk 2 as a build week , So much for getting car for summer hols in July, Half term this coming October , Ready for winter , who knows when that will start? :( I made it VERY clear I expect the part exchange offer on the Passat to be honoured , and fully expect the delay payment Second thoughts ? yes very much , my Brother did not have to wait this long for his bespoke Aston Martin DB9
  4. Interesting this , my dealer appears to be aware of the delay payments , but struggles with customer service .Previous manufacturers dealt with have been VW and Mazda , both performed well We ordered on the 24 April , and to be fair were told of the long delay , but then silence , we gave it a while then prompted the dealer on more than 1 occasion for some feed back on order acceptance ,a return call each time was promised , but nothing . We went into the dealership after about 6 weeks , and low and behold the order had been accepted the week before . then silence again A visit about 3 weeks ago to see if any updates were available ,a call was again promised . STILL WAITING Come on Motorline Dartford , Customer contact is important !
  5. If you dont mind saying , did you pay over list , It seems some sellers are asking a premium due to the waiting time .
  6. But to Brink to an approved tow bar for it , I do have the caravan to consider
  7. I hope you lot did not think I was serious Mind you , I only need a powerful car for the caravan , otherwise the MX5 serves us well , except in the snow that is , when its about as much use as an ash tray on a motorbike , Bet it would be easy to carve through traffic with one ,as most would think it was just a clean car from the 70s and be wary of being dinged
  8. I am sure you realise tongue was very deep in cheek Bet you dont have to wait 26 weeks for one though !
  9. http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/miscellaneous/2011-09/a-rugged-winter-weather-solution---lada-niva/ And save about £12000
  10. Perhaps he was in France ,on autoroutes , speed limit for caravans 130kph , 80 mph
  11. Programming the car to the radio should not present a problem , we are a VAG family , my son has the full VAG diagnostic software program on his laptop plus the connection lead to link to the car , this so he can tinker with his supercharged (470bhp) VW 4R32 Golf , daughter has a 05 Fabia , and we at Present a Passat , soon to be a Yeti .how soon well ……………………..talk about wishing your life away ! Voice control is something we may not bother with , I have a Parrot bluetooth unit in my van , and find voice recognition a bit hit and miss , may be ambient noise , but easier to use Parrot head unit and manual input , and as Wife will be the main user of the Yeti and she being a technophobe  ,the bluetooth will be in the main for incoming calls , if she needs to dial out she will park up.
  12. Ahh so the bluetooth is a separate unit , so ebay is the way to go to save a few bob
  13. I am now confused , just looked at the PDF owners manual ( just discovered the sticky with all the Yeti documentation ) for the Columbus sat nav and the system appears to be bluetooth enabled after all
  14. We have on order a 170 Elegance ,but gave opting for a factory fit sat nav a miss, £1500+ is a lot , when the same ( Coloumbus ) is available on ebay for around £500/600 The only thing bothering me is , the standard Bolero radio installation has bluetooth connection as standard , but I can find no mention of this being on the Columbus system , Is it there whatever radio is fitted or not available with the sat nav ? Answers please on a £600 note
  15. Your trip to Dordogne mirrors our trip just 3 weeks ago with the Passat ( To La Roque Gageac , Nr Sarlat )and fuel was almost the same , good to know A very helful thread !!
