Stupid question probably, can I remove the battery to clean the terminals and re connect without any on board computer issues?
Hi all, Never done it with this vehicle before, but not sure if it will mess up any on board computer settings? They're slightly grubby and wanted to clean the terminals and connectors and pop some dialectric silicone grease on them. Thanks

Recommended pressure for Skoda Octavia 2013 MK3 elegance
Hi all Just wanted to check the best tyre pressure for the weight. Got a long journey coming up - over 3 hours - with more weight than normal. 3 people, 2 dogs and some luggage. The recommendation is up to 3 people and 1 suitcase (no specified weight for suitcase) 32psi all around front and back. Up to 5 people and 3 cases (fully loaded) 36psi fronts and 46psi rear. These are for 225/45 tyres Goodyear all weather ones brand new. Question is, the three of us plus 2 dogs weigh just under 300kg, about 280kg, and the luggage is one small suitcase and some holdalls. So technically weight all in would be the equivalent of 5 people of average weight. So would I do the 36 fronts and 46 rear or 36 all around? I would personally go 36 front and 42 rear for the weight and compensating for expansion of rubber. Probably being over the top about it, but the rear suspension is pretty rubbish on the Skoda so want to make sure I've got the right pressure. Many thanks

Rear shock absorber issue
Hi all, thanks for the info. I'll check spring when back at the car. Tyres recently inflated to account for the weight. Correct equal pressures for front and rear. Didn't hear any noticeable damage noise and it's not shockingly low, just noticeable as soon as I got out th car. I'll inspect when back and take to the garage tomorrow. It's a 2.0 diesel 2013 Octavia

Rear shock absorber issue
Hi all. Noticed from the rear the right side is noticeably dropped in comparison to the left when no one is in the car. I think maybe it's leaked oil most likely needs replacing , problem is I'm away on holiday in the country and don't know if it will hold out for the journey home with all the weight. 3 people 2 dogs and a small suitcase and small luggage. As a quick fix can you re fill shocks - depending on type - or do you have to replace. Only have 4 days as of tomorrow. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

DMF going?
Hi all Further to my recent post about a slightly clicking/knocking sound when gently pressing the accelerator - may have always happened but never noticed - I'm now getting some vibration - not horrendous - but noticeable when accelerating - under load - in 1st -3rd/4th gears. Anything at speed Seems ok, when easing off accelerator it goes and working the clutch it goes. Therefore I fear the DMF. Question, if it is that, how long can you drive before sorting? I'm the first person to sort problems, but 2 weeks ago had the cambelt done and doing a defender rebuild, so shedding a near tear at spending more money on the Skoda or any vehicle this month! I have a long trip to Norfolk coming up so keen to sort before then, but will mainly be motorway driving, so may be fine? Never driven a car with a faulty dmf so not sure what the protocol is, most likely pay up and fix! Also, would clutch need doing at the same time? Thanks all
