I have an update, timing belt is fine and in alignment, battery is ok , fuel pump seems to prime

Sorry I thought it was put on via my profile. Skoda Fabia 2010. 1.6TDI 103bhp Elegance 87000 Timing belt due car never done this before and normally drives like a dream

Hello everyone, I have what seems to me a strange problem. The car started as usual, 3 minutes driving it cut out, I turned the key again and a whirring noise from the starter. I thought the starter was faulty but that wouldn't stop the car. the starter turns but does not crank the engine however if I engage 1st gear clutch and I turn the starrer out the car lunges forward, I can see the timing belt turning, and I can here the fuel pump priming, any ideas?
