  1. Update - got through. He's alive and well, but BT have screwed up so his phone is only working intermittently.
  2. Trying to get hold of Ali, but the when trying to call I get a "you have dialed an incorrect number" message. Anyone been to Unit 18 recently?
  3. Right, will check boot and bonnet catches and pressure wash the front of the car to remove spiders!
  4. In the last few weeks the alarm on our vRS LE has decided to start wailing somewhere between 2am and 4am. It's not every night, and the weather outside varies (sometimes rainy, sometimes not, sometimes above freezing, sometimes not) - but it is doing my head, let alone the poor neighbours. Is there a common cause for this? Please help before I lob a brick through the window to give it a reason to go off....
  5. Just to wrap this up, it was the bottom part of the boost hose that had come off. Went on the side of caution and had the car recovered to Unit 18, and Ali has worked some magic quickly and the vRS is back Once again, thanks for the replies - very much appreciated!
  6. I've limped it the 4 miles home. Engine management light came on too :( Is booked in at Unit18 on Thursday. Will call Alistair in the morning and take his advice on whether to limp it to him, or to get it recovered to him. Thanks for the help guys. As an infrequent poster, the assistance from this place never ceases to amaze me.
  7. Thanks. Guess I won't be doing this in the station car park then!
  8. Evening all... The missus vRS has lost all boost... hoping it's the pipe that's popped, rather than the turbo. Top hose looks fine - so where does the bottom hose connect? I can see the intercooler, but not where the pipe goes... or how to get to it? Help! (or do I just get it recovered?) Thanks.
  9. Jeez, they are cheap! £63 a corner! Never ordered from them, do they have places that fit them, or do I need to find a friendly tyre place?
  10. The ST220 is my daily hack (on Yokos), her ladyship has the vRS. Rainsports look like a decent option - especially given the current summer weather!
  11. Cheers guys. Staggered they're only 205/45/16... assumed they'd be 17s at least! Had Hankooks on the previous vRS and they were fine, although I'm running Yoko Advan Sports on my ST220 which have been great in terms of grip and longevity. Interesting that Rainsports get such good reviews. Will look into them, thanks.
  12. Currently need to find some new tyres for the missus vRS, as they urgently need replacing. At present they're the OEM Contis (I think) which have been pretty good. So I have 2 questions.. 1) As I'm 200 miles from the car can anyone tell me the standard size of tyres fitted to the vRS LE? 2) Any recommendations? TIA
  13. Not a regular poster, so hope this doesn't break any forum rules. I had Unit18 fit a heated front screen to the missus vRS LE, so we have a spare screen sat with Al. Downside is, it'd mean a trip to MK...
  14. Saw his car at your place when the missus' car was having its heated front screen fitted. Subsequently "chatted" over email, and he was always helpful. Think he knew how to rattle some cages, but he'll be missed. RIP.
