  1. Thanks il check it out if you look on page 3 iv put up a link to a video of the noise coming from my engine.
  2. I cant believe it too mate a totally different block for a auto i,m trying to find one but at the moment is proving a little difficult might give that forest savage place a bell.
  3. The blocks are different and the starter motor sits in a different place or so iv been told
  4. Hi I am after an engine for my fabia its a 1.4 petrol BKY AUTOMATIC, the manual engine is different. Or dose anyone have one or know of a decent vag breakers yard. TIA
  5. Iv changed all the lifters and found nothing out of the ordinary top end. i'm thinking piston slap because when i accelerate the noise is very apparent as the pistons are on the thrust so to speak and once im off the throttle on the over run it disappears. so maybe piston slap or the gugden pin is worn pardon the spelling lol
  6. Managed to get a link hope this helps a little.
  7. Once at 35 degrees with the engine running remove the plug, the car must be level.
  8. Just tried the video but the file was too big
  9. Hi this may have been covered before but I have just got hold of a 2005 Fabia 1.4 Petrol automatic with the BKY engine code which has quite a harsh tapping noise when at idle and when accelerating, once I come off the throttle the noise stops. This vehicle has covered 68k and has very good history I have changed all 16 lifters and have fully serviced the car but its still there I am suspecting piston slap. So my questions are has anyone else had this issue? And is the auto engine different to the manual ones as I have heard that you cannot simply bang another same code engine in as manual and auto's are not a simple swap. I will try and upload a video that I have of the problem. Many thanks

Hi thanks for accepting me I have had, and still have quite a few cars I am currently on my 4th Skoda I started off with a 1994 Felicia1.3 lxi then moved to a 2001 Fabia 1.4 8v mpi Classic and on to a 2005 Fabia auto saloon which I still have.
