  1. Heya NobbyTucker, Unfortunately my Octavia since **** itself, the gearbox gave up and was in my view uneconomical to repair. However, I had learned from some investigation for this problem... If the stalk does not need cleaning, and no codes are present. Then I suggest either attempting to replace the stalk (are readily available only, from eBay or car parts website from £15-45), if that fails then replacing some switch within the accelerator pedal assembly may help. I'm afraid I'm unsure of its name or exact location. Also make sure your break lights are functioning, as according to my research it can be something to do with a switch in the braking system too. If all of the following fails, I'm afraid my knowledge then falls short and I'd suggest employing an indy mechanic to diagnose the problem.
  2. Hello Phil-E, I think I've seen the repair kit you mentioned. Do you happen to know how many hours labour this will be?
  3. Should've mentioned, at first I saw a code for clutch position sensor. It also goes in drive, will drive forward but very jerky. Also, I get no reverse
  4. Hello all, Last night I went for a leisurely drive, all was fine for about 2 miles. Then, upon passing a set of traffic lights... I lost all drive, I look up at the gear indicator flashing... So I scan with my Carista tool. It's not moving at all, at this point I call the RAC and wait for them to arrive... He comes, scans the codes and tells me it's the clutch solenoid. I had been given the codes to google for myself, and it also mentioning a control unit of some sort? I paid £1175 for this car, it appears to have electrical issues also... (at the time of purchasing, none of these faults were present at all) I guess, I am asking scrap or fix? As I'm seeing possible repair cost upwards of 2k for a car of a 155000 miles on, I wouldn't be able to afford that kind of cost. Thanks, Daz
  5. Hello All, I recently replaced a fuse in my fuse box, for the headlamp washers as it was blown. Whilst there now functional, they still don't pop out. At the moment I did this, my window screen wash stopped working... I was about to give up so I put the panel back and voila it started working again. (I checked all fuses for a blow, they all are okay) I took a picture of my fuse box, in the hopes someone can help me make sure all the correct fuses are in the right place as diagrams only cause my head to hurt, they seem to be different depending on the market. Are there any fuses missing, or perhaps not assigned at all? Also are all the correct amps in the right place? (Right hand drive, UK Car) Thanks Daz
  6. Hello All, My Octavia is suffering from the infamous Cruise Control issue, I've tried the cleaning trick to no avail. So I am aware I'm gunna need a new stalk, my question is what would ya'll recommend as I see different brands out there. (I'm from the UK, so any UK stores etc would be helpful.) Thanks, Daz
  7. Hey e-Roottoot, Don't worry I certainly will be doing this. She's due for an inspection/Mot not too long from now so will be getting a full service done at the same time, Just to err on the side of caution. I have checked all fluids already and all seem to be fairly clean and at the right levels.. Just need to check sparks and air filter.
  8. Yes! Exactly like that, though not so bad on the exhaust gargle for me. Okay, now I'm starting to make sense of it. Thank You!
  9. Hey Phil-E, This is from a stone cold start for the engine (in terms of not driving it for 14h) . The jumping/shaking happens when parked up, to be fair it has been quite warm here in the UK so the ambient temp thing you've mentioned could make sense to my issue.
  10. Saying hello to the forum, My Skoda is... Skoda Octavia 1.4TSI 2010 Auto. Hope to find many tips and tricks and so on here!
  11. Hello All, I'm new to the Skoda realm and wondered if someone could help me. Upon starting from cold, the car judders quite a bit... She also stays at around 1300rpm for about a minute. Once she's done having a fit, she's fine and dandy (a bit like me without coffee in the morning) Is this normal for a 11 year old Octavia? I've scanned and there was one code saying running rich on bank 1, I cleared it and it has not come back as of yet. Should mention, if it's perhaps relevant she's done 155000 and has been recently serviced but to what extent I do not know as I just bought her with no history (A gamble I know) Cheers, D
