  1. Cheers, I'm from Cork & living in Galway... My wife is from Clonmel...small world.
  2. Hi, Time to change my 2009 Saab 93, love it but not reliable anymore & bits beginning to go wrong with it. Want to get a comfortable, nice trim & interior car, petrol at a decent price. Use will be mainly short trips so going for a petrol. I like the idea of an automatic, just nicer to drive, virtually no gear shifting. Therefore looking at an Octavia, seems very nice trim & decent value compared to others. Budget about €16k max. I'll sell the Saab privately as I'll get a lot more for it. I looked at smaller cars but find the interior not as solid or nice unless you go for something like a Golf, which is same price as an Octavia. Not mad on the exterior look of the Fabia so back to the Octavia. In Ireland there's only about 8 that fit my criteria, 2 that stand out: Between these two I'm thinking the 2016 would make more sense. Would you think the same? 161 is €500 more, 50k km less, doesn't have reversing camera, doesn't have the slight changes that the 2017 versions got 171 Octavia Style 1.0 115HP DSG Auto (style has the reversing camera) 115k (€14.5k). NCT expired March 21. 161 Octavia Ambition 1.2 TSI 110 BHP auto- with 66k (€14,950) Our other car has the reversing camera, which shows full surround of the car, which I like. Only 1 from my search has one, I was thinking that I could get a parking camera added for about €270. I know it's not as good as the full surround cameras but better than nothing. Any opinions on either of the 2 above cars or anything other comments, recommendations? Cheers, Pa.
