Dear All,
Exactly one month ago (September 18th) I took delivery of my Octavia iV Style Break. In one month the experience has been great. The car drives well, it is comfortable and, very important, it’s frugal. I didn’t find any of the reported problems. I averaged 4.6 l/100 km on the highway and 3.5 l/100 km on regular roads. We have very hilly country roads around here, putting a lot of strain on the engine battery.
To my surprise, this morning (18/10/2021) the car was totally dead. I was able to open the front door but that was it!! The dealer was hopeless but the Portuguese importer has, so far, been outstanding. The mechanic of the first tow car wasn’t able to jump start the car but the second was. Everything seems to work right now.
VW/Skoda suggested that I wait until tomorrow and see if the car needs to be towed or whether I can drive it to the nearest assistance point.
Final thoughts: very strange that the 12V battery died one month into ownership. Not very inspiring for the longevity of the car! The car should be draining battery/not charging. I drive in hybrid/normal and sometimes hybrid/sport modes. Never electric only due to the terrain configuration, but always charged overnight. Let’s see!!
What is your opinion? This is my 1st electrified car so I don't have any reference, but one month of battery life is ridiculous. 😬
Cheers
