Good day all,
Recently I just got a 2018 Superb MK3 with 20,000 miles on it, the drive has been Superb, everything about it is fantastic.
However, a thing that has been bugging me is a ticking / window popping sound whenever I'm above 25 mph (40kmh). This only comes towards the driver side, directly next to my ears, and the sounds isn't comfortable.
I've been trying to rectify this for the past 2 weeks, by going through this forum, other car forums / youtube videos etc, but was not able to identify the root cause.
I have tried to:
1) Lubricate with Silicone on all 4 Door Seals
2) Lubricate the side mirrors (not sure why I did this, because I just felt it was coming from there, but it didn't work)
3) Apply Grease to the door hatch (driver side door)
4) Apply Tape to the door striker (drive side)
5) Used a rubber mallet to hit the door striker (God knows why I did that, watched a youtube video and I was desperate, no damages incurred in the process)
I literally have to increase the volume of my music in order to 'camouflage' the popping sounds. Irregardless of the weather/temperature, the popping sounds still occur, this is driving me bonkers.
I have no lose items in my vehicle, hence I am uncertain what is triggering the noise. I have sent my vehicle to the Car Dealer, but they have failed to find the noise.
Sometimes I feel it may come from the A Pillar or B Pillar or inside the driver door compartment area, some have said the Fuel Lines as well?? I have no clue where else to look for, I may end up searching these areas if its my last resort.
I would appreciate some help if anyone has experienced this issue, and how to resolve this.
Thank you.
