Delivery times?
Still waiting as well, ordered 17th April 2021. Built week ending 13 August and at stage 20 according to the factory, which I have been told means assembled but waiting for parts. My dealer is getting about 4 cars a month of all types but it does seem random. I regularly look at the Skoda UK web site and noticed something odd this week. If you use the configurator to build a car it will not give you an OTR price, merely a price for the base car and any extras. This seems ominous to me as it appears they are so uncertain of delivery times for new orders that they are worried about committing to an OTR in case something changes in the UK such as the road fund tax. Tax changes like this usually happen in April at the start of the new financial year and with a rough delivery estimate of nine months I can see where this might be a problem. Not very reassuring if you did want to order now.

Delivery times?
Nine months now seems about right for the whole process. From my point of view, with my car built week ending 13 August 2021 further research has indicated that supplying this with the computer chips to go in the control module could take up to four months. This is very speculative and it could be done any when from now until about December based on the number of cars my dealer has had supplied in the last month. Research I have done on line points to a number of factors for this, such as current wafer production (750,000 per month), number of chips required for a modern car (approx 1400) and issues with building these chips into the boards which are then manufactured in to the control units for all car makers. It seems that Skoda are getting about 500 control units a month for cars coming to the UK, but I must stress that this is NOT a figure backed up by any online data, I assume because the car makers are very unwilling to publish quite how bad the situation is. What has been in the main stream press towards the end of this week is that a number of American manufacturers such as GM are shutting plants down until they can assure supply of control units. Granted that they make a lot more cars than Skoda and Skoda press releases are upbeat about their semi conductor supplies. According to them supply is low but increasing, but they would not put any figures on this. I am honestly not sure if its better to have a very long wait for a car which will at least come straight from the factory when it is built, or have up to a four month wait to collect a car that has been out in the open waiting for the control unit.

Delivery times?
Seeing the other posts here is making me feel a bit down to be honest, but I will stay the course even if I don't see the new car until 2022. If I had been told by my dealer about the issues back in April when I ordered I probably would have held off, but having waited so long it seems pointless to cancel now. I wasn't aware of any software issues with the Mk IV, certainly not seen anything in the UK press or on U Tube about this. I was aware that the very early cars had to have the software package wiped and reinstalled at the factory but this appeared to be a First Edition problem which a model year 2022 car should not have. (Model year 2022 started at the end of June 2021 according to my research).

I know mine has been built so that's half the battle, but my dealer had no update. good point about approaching Skoda UK. Is there any specific contact or web site to use?

Sorry hit the wrong key and posted the last comment incomplete, just shows how long its been since I did any typing! I suggest a new Clean your Skoda thread for this topic.

Delivery times?
This is probably not the right thread to discuss cleaning in detail, if you like I can start a new thread - but briefly - I don't have access to an enclosed space as I live in a flat. This also means I am limited as to the amount of water I can carry out to the car park. I try to choose a calm day, a little overcast if possible. Snow foam first then rinse, good quality car shampoo, rinse, then professional polish, clean off with Isopropyl alcohol, then lastly paint sealant. If you are interested in the products I use we can carry this conversation on in a new Clea

At least the plastic covers the top of the car. When were these photos taken? Its of particular concern to me as I have a process with new cars to protect the paint with a sealant after initial polishing with a professional grade polish. I have done this with every new Skoda I have owned since 2010. Its much more work if the paint or clear coat is already contaminated. Just to prove my point, here are a couple of photos of my 2 year old 2.0L DSG I took after the last time I cleaned it.

I hope everyone gets their car on time! As an update to my post yesterday, my dealer told me that they value second hand cars on the registration date and not the build date. They could not say if the built cars without chips sets are stored out doors, but they are protected with the plastic transport covering so that also put one of my other concerns to rest. On a happier note, the value of my current car has increased by approximately £2,500, which the dealer has intimated they will look at passing on once my new car turns up.

Delivery times?
Ordered an Octavia 1.5 SE L e Tech on April 17. It was built week ending August 13 and as of today I still have no idea when it will be shipped as it is waiting for the computer modules. My concern is that when I finally get the car, its build date will not match the registration date and this could cause a loss of value on trade in. This will get worse the longer the car sits in a lot in the Czech Republic.
