Just put my 2014 Octavia Elegance 1.8t at the mechanic. Had it since 2021, 161k km now Health report attached, how bad is it? Had an EPC warning for over a year and everytime they said I need to leave the car for further inspection and I didn't have time, at first I thought it's just affecting the start/ stop but I noticed the car drives worse and mostly accelerates worse. Coolant was always bad, it broke, they replaced it to a new one that was also broken and than they changed it again. There is probably also a leak from somewhere along the route. A/C was also a massive headache, replaced the evaporator(got 50% back from the class action) which helped but it was still inconsistent, not cool enough and sometimes just pushed neutral temp in the passenger side. Same in winter btw, passenger side not heating. They also said they replaced some part responsible for heating which I never heard of and forgot, it did nothing any they never charged my those 250$ so I guess they just bluffed. Parallel parking - I guess that's that screwed proximity sensor in the outer front. Information electronics I have no idea what that is. All that without talking about the silent killer which is the clutch 😰😰

Hey guys. I have a 2014 Elegance 1.8 model that drove 118k km so far. My coolant was replaced a month ago because it was broken and had water leaking out of it but I had no warning whatsoever. Last week I started having this warning message randomly(not all the time), usually a minute or two after starting to drive. Temp is 90 and the water are well above the A line. Could it be that it warns me about the old coolant? Can you think of something else?

It was changed almost two years ago. I assume they would have changed it if needed while they replaced the evaporator? I'm tired of going to the dealer, especially cause I'm not sure I have something to complain about, I mean its not cooling(15c in the vent) when the dashboard is untouchably hot, in a normal daytime drive it blows about 11-12c. Temps here are about 33c.

Yeah smell was terrible with the profile on strong. What and how can I check/check in those sensors?

They did the regas and vaccum when they changed the evaporator. Profile was on medium, intresting, I will do further testing. What do you mean by that last sentence?

Hey guys, I have a 2014 black mk3 Octavia 1.8 and I recently had the evaporator changed to a new one cause there was a big leak. Right now its much better, but there is a huge difference between when the car was hot or not. Especially if it had direct sunlight or not. with car parked in the garage, AC temp inside the vent is about 8c, in the night it can get to 5c, but if I parked it in the sun and the dashboard is flaming hot, it won't go lower than 15(!!!)c which is terrible cause its when I needed the AC the most. Even after a 20 minutes drive it stays like that. Is it normal? I returned to the dealer and first time they made a software update, second time the measured temprature was 8 cause it was early morning so they didn't do anything. Thanks 🙏

Hi guys A couple weeks ago I bought a 2014 Octavia elegance 1.8 from the first owner that's done 112k km. Appearentely he has had the A/C checked multiple times at the dealership since 2018, they did a computer test and regassed it a couple times, until late 2019 when they told him the evaporator is bad and need to be replaced for about 1300€. He kept regas it until he sold it to me, I regassed it not knowing that whole saga because the first two weeks was good, then left vents blew chill air while right vents blew neutral air. It was good for a few weeks and now the problem is back. I got it checked at a highly recommended VAG specialized repair service and they told me the same- replace (original) evaporator for about 1180€. Question is, should I get it replaced at one of those places, or maybe look for an A/C service that will maybe do it for cheaper using alternate evaporator? Is the pricing normal? (I'm located in Israel). Anyone thinking it could be something else? Or the evaporator could be fixed? Thanks!
