Hi,
I’m trying to help a friend with overheating issues on his 1.2 TSI Fabia.
When recently driving on the motorway the car overheated, it was recovered to his local garage who said the water pump hosing was leaking and replaced this with the pump.
The car was used again on the motorway in the recent hot spell and the same thing happened, temp gauge high.
Using VCDS there are no codes, and the garage want to book it in with a dealer (2 week wait) for a diagnostics.
Are there any likely culprits for causing this that can be tried in the interim - I suggested the thermostats but the garage believe they changed these with the housing.
I’ve ran it up on the driveway and can’t get it to go past 110 degrees coolant temp, but the fan wasn’t kicking in.
Could it perhaps be the G62 Sensor or Thermal switch for the fan?
Any suggestions welcome!
