  1. Mine don't stick so often, but they do squeak when manouvering in a tight space, or reversing. Over the holidays in Jan, they started to squeak a bit more when driving regularly, specifically when braking or cornering. The VW tech I spoke to said the new gen Polo GTI has some kind of dampers fitted to the rear brakes that prevent this, but google has turned up little of use. Plan is to take them apart (again) and use ceramic grease on all the moving surfaces and the backs of the pads. The rears likely haven't been changed in my ownership (going on 3 years now) so despite them having plenty of meat left, I might just replace, to rule them out as being the issue.
  2. I'm not sure, was serviced by the dealership so whatever they're meant to use. About 4000 kms since the change
  3. Yep sure does! Once it’s warm it ticks over just fine. I think by the end of the video the sound has quietened down a bit too. Possibly need to go with a thicker Oil?
  4. Hi all, Just wanted to check as i've had some conflicting advice. - oil/filter change 27/03/2023 - cold engine, ambient temp probably 16/17 degrees C - 2018 petrol VRS let me know if there are any other details you need. Thanks in advance!
  5. Ooooh exciting, honk/wave if you see a Blue VRS Wagon [ZZA305] or a White VRS Wagon [ZZB241] (my friend and I!). Gazley in the Hutt offer the best service as far as getting things for you, and the parts guy, Paul is a GC. Maxon stuff is cool, and AutoStance is a good place to suss them through. Sutherland performance is a good place in central welly for servicing/tuning etc. Super Skoda have some stuff that mirrors the Maxton stuff but it a bit cheaper. Not sure how prohibitive shipping would be though!
  6. Howdy, sorry i'm late to the party on this one. SuperSkoda is your best bet for badges/grilles etc, ebay has some decent second hand stuff from the UK and shipping is usually fairly reasonable. Occasionally one pops up on trademe being broken up, so worth enquiring when they do. I approached Gazley here in Wellington and the prices are fairly high, might be different where you are though!
  7. It's a 2018 VRS - so the 2L petrol Wagon (estate), if that makes any difference?
  8. Hey guys, I've been dealing with this squeak for the last few months. Took it into the dealer initially, and they said they couldn't find it. "Try coming back when it gets worse" - which feels like a bit of a crock of, if you ask me. I think the noise is coming from the rear of the car, usually seems to happen in reverse when leaving my driveway. The only thing I noticed around the brakes is that the rim of the brake disc is significantly more 'rusty' on one side than the other - would this have any impact though? Anyone have any good ideas for diagnosing the issue more accurately, or have dealt with something similar? Thanks in advance, and apologies for the very vague description.
  9. Are they the Kopacek ones? Seems like a rookie question, but how difficult was the install?
  10. immediately looking like a fool not knowing how photos work. Hopefully that's worked.
  11. Hi guys, New to the forums. Not new to VAG cars in general, but I recently purchased my first Skoda! 2018 Race Blue vRs Wagon. A few options boxes ticked, but unfortunately not the Panoramic roof or DCC. This was one of only 5 very specially optioned cars that came into NZ with the XDS+ (and wasn't a 245 model). A couple of 'mods' planned. Nothing crazy, black badges will probably be where I start. Looking forward to taking delivery tomorrow morning.
