  1. Yes i had a problem with the release handle , if you take the handle apart you will see there is a locking tab that secures the ball of the cable the dealer obviously never saw this when it was fitted , bit of fiddling but fixed and has never happened agaon to me
  2. Well Skoda UK finally got back to me today , Warranty claim has been rejected after me sending photographs and a brake test report , due to environmental and weathering conditions , and I refused to take it to Henry's to be re-assessed , drop the car off for another day , just too much hassle to be honest also rejected £50 voucher towards service repairs , no longer trust the dealer and the way they carry out there business and I am more than capable of sorting any issue I may have with the car in future So ordered a new set of brembo rear discs £24.82 +vat each and Brembo rear pads £22.18 + vat , guess I'll be working a bit longer tomorrow and get them fitted ending this saga , poor show by Skoda and Arnold Clark Linwood
  3. When did percentages come in over good old millimetres what a joke
  4. Been onto dealer this morning for disc a pad measurements front 10% and rear are 20% pitted and scored, now contacted Skoda UK with these issues and they have forwarded it to there goodwill section to be considered, dealer cannot connect me with a skoda area warranty manager to inspect or discuss this issue I will of course let you know the outcome of this nonsense thanks for all the replies guys
  5. Area Warranty manager sounds a good idea , I can buy and fit a new set if needed but it's the principal that I am feeling cheated , I am a mechanic still on the tools , with full diagnostic and remapping equipment
  6. Roottoot it's in Arnold Clark Linwood got a courtesy fabia off of them
  7. Where is the best place to contact Skoda UK customer service , was at the dealership today to try and claim for a rear brake disc that is warped the car had 8k when the problem occurred now 12k due to dealer not doing warranty work in favour of full payment customers, the dealer is saying it is wear and tear and I cannot claim for it , my point is there is minimal wear on the disc so I am wishing to claim a manufacture defect for this fault your thoughts please , I work in the motor trade as a mot tester and would currently fail this car for excessive fluctuation if presented for a test 2020 (70 plate) do I fight it or fit new pads and discs myself...its the principal
  8. I mapped my 2.0 sportsline plus tdi to 198 bhp put a stage 1 / eco map on it took the ecu out and benched it to read and write the ecu 2020 model , totally different machine to drive with even better fuel economy when needed now , I put this kind of map on this model of car for £220 using only tested quality files , done since I bought it in November 21
  9. Thank you , I have genuine remapping equipment and do ecu work regularly, was trying to avoid a tcu map if possible as still has manufacturer warranty I will say to the service dept when in for warranty work on the 8th of March
  10. Thank you roottoot, it does take off in first but only if completely stopped even pulling a 1000kg caravan likes 2nd gear alot , just concerns me it will wear the clutch plates or prematurely deteriorate the oil , just sounds as if it is slipping but definitely isn't, will see what the dealer says about it thanks
  11. What diagnostics are you using to work with new skodas ...ross tech vcds ????
  12. No winter settings on my car but I do know there is on older cars
  13. Mine is the 7 speed box , 2020 model and only done 11000 , I am a mot tester and test drive loads of cars with dsg boxes , but can honestly say that I have never driven a audi or Vw dsg that wants to take away in 2nd ever , going into the dealership next month for a back brake disc that's fluctuating and the centre armrest all puckered , I will mention this to them and see what they say and if there is a update on the software and keep the forum posted thanks for the reply
  14. My Superb is up shifting at 4mph 1st to second but has to be at a complete standstill before it will select 1st more than often takes away in 2nd and sounds like its slipping
  15. Hi guys my 70 plate Superb is annoying my in that it wants to take off in 2nd gear most of the time and sounds like its slipping , is there a software update for this as it is really annoying, the software version is 2402 on a GSG DQ381 wet clutch 7 speed gearbox, any other members with this issue thanks

  17. No before you map a remapped car it it good practice to put it back to stock then re write it with the new modded file , I use regal tuning for my maps
  18. I'm down for the September weekend at York , towed my caravan at 60mph all the way down with a average of 47mpg
