Hello!
So I have a 2018 Octavia 2.0 DSG. Lovely car. However at around 55000 miles the engine started ticking over rough and there was a light thudding. Suspected flywheel. So because it was under warranty I took it to Skoda Garage. The tech heard the noise but couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. So wanted it in for another full day. When I collected it that day I was told the noise was from the timing belt tensioner so they replaced both, off I went. Drove to a nearby car park and it was still doing the same thing. Called them and they said bring it back in. Another day in and when i collected it I was told they still couldn’t figure out where it was coming from and that what I was originally told about the timing belt and tensioner was nothing to do with the noise it was actually a campaign to get it changed. So they asked if they could have it for two days. At the end of those two days they STILL couldn’t work out where the noise was coming from. The service manager said the tech thought it may be coming from the gearbox but couldn’t confirm it. He told me there wasn’t much they could do because it wasn’t definitive noise. I said I was worried about the Warrenty running out and he said they have it noted and if it gets worse then I will get it covered. Fast forward and I took it back to them out of warrenty now and suddenly they know it’s the flywheel but there not willing to pay for it and Skoda are giving zero goodwill.
Has anyone had a good case going to Skoda customer service to try get it sorted?
TIA
