The Dorado alloys are: Rim dimension 7,5J x 17“ ET 49 Would the offset be very different to the 19" extremes?

Thanks. That's where is gets a bit confusing to me, if it's a 7.5 alloy and that takes a 225, would that mean the offset would be the same?

I'm not sure how accurate it is but the compatability checker from a firm selling them on Ebay say that they are compatible with the 2017 but not the 2018? Not sure how accurate that is mind?

Also presumably there is no difference on the calipers between the one you have and the 2018 VRS estate? Thanks again.

Thanks flybynite, that's very handy to know. How do you find the difference in ride and did you need the low profile balancing weights?

Change to 18" Gemini from 19" extreme alloys.
Thanks Matt, and no offence taken. I love the car already, I just drive on some pretty bad roads and do a fair few miles, it's not so much the ride, although I'm still getting used to to the firmness, but the idea of fairly regularly getting flats from potholes etc on our wonderful roads. If i could find some decent 17" wheels that definitely fit and might give more protection that would be ideal.

I'd be really interested to find a set of alloys that definitely fit/clear the calipers.. I take it most are very close and at best require slim weights.

Change to 18" Gemini from 19" extreme alloys.
Thanks Mark, not too far from you. From the other posts it sounds like 18's wont make too much difference but I appreciate the offer. Might be interesting to see the difference all the same 🙂

Ah okay thanks, I hadn't realised it would be an option. Certainly something I'd be interested in if they could fit.

No, I thought I'd read that 18" is as low as you can go?

Change to 18" Gemini from 19" extreme alloys.
Thanks, I priced up some 18 alloys from Skoda and there guy in parts said pretty much the same, which says a lot. All credit it to him to be fair. I did invest in a space saver though.

Ah sorry, you are 100% right it is 225/35/19. I need new specs!!!

That's what is says on the tyres, 225/25/19. I have only just purchased the car, so I cant comment on what the previous owner did or paid.

Ah, okay. Thanks, that's really helpful. Perhaps I'll try 225/35/19 before I consider changing the alloys.

Thanks guys, the car came with 225/25/19's. So are they not correct then (for the 19" Extremes)?

Thanks, that's helpful. In fact I'm just speccing tyres to go with the 18's I'm about to order. I was looking at Michelin Cross climates, given I do drive on some untreated roads during the winter months? They seem to have good reviews.

Many thanks roaddetective for the kind response. I actually took the car in to a local garage this morning to get it the once over, but yes when I get it back I'll certainly put a picture of it up. Thanks
