  1. I doubt it’s headlift as one of the first mods I did was pd150 headbolts and it loses the same amount of coolant no matter how I drive it, I have noticed a wet patch in the bottom corner but not inspected properly, was hoping it wasn’t the radiator but if this code isn’t common and doesn’t mean anything then it probably will be the radiator, I’ll have to inspect further, thanks guys
  2. Has anyone had this fault in VCDS before? Car heaters work fine however I do slowly lose coolant has to be topped up every 3/4 weeks could this be why?
  3. I’ve just reset the linkages, cleaned up all of the shafts where the linkages connect to as well and still won’t go into reverse. It’s almost like it’s half selecting the gear, and when the cars running it makes a horrible crunching noise and keeps making the noise until I take it out of reverse. The only thing I can think is I have installed the selector shaft/tower incorrectly but is that even possible?
  4. I’ll try resetting the linkages today and see how that goes
  5. I didn’t change the linkages so I don’t think they’d need adjusting?
  6. Today I replaced my gear selector rod/shaft on my 04 VRs as my old one had issues popping off. After having a bit of trouble getting it seated back in I replaced the gear oil while I was there too. I then went in the car and tried to select all the gears with the engine off to see if they were all there and reverse was really stiff to get into, it wasn’t like this before so I ran the car for 5 minutes and then when I tried to put it in reverse while running it made a clunk/crunching noise and was still really stiff to go in. Just wondering if it’s possible to put the selector shaft in incorrectly as I didn’t have these problems before? It seemed very fiddly and only seemed to go in one way but maybe I’ve done it wrong?
  7. Hi just wondering if anyone has experienced the gear selector popping off, happened to me today while driving. Managed to get it back on but it doesn’t feel solid, is this quite a common thing to happen and is there any thing I can do to fix it without replacing the box? Thanks
  8. If the needles off would that not mean it’d sit at 80 all the time rather than occasionally going to 90? I’ll check VCDS👍
  9. Fabia, it’s in the fabia thread section
  10. I’ve bought another mk1 about a month ago and it seems to have an issue getting Upto temperature on the gauge. I’ve seen a lot of posts in here about it being the temperature sensor so I’ve replaced that, as well as swapping over the thermostat from my other fabia which works fine and still no luck. It gets Upto about 80 degrees then just sits there, it’ll get Upto 90 if you’re driving for a long time but even after my 40 minute commute it’s still usually not Upto 90, any ideas? Thanks
  11. Hi, I’m just curious about a “smoke map” on my pd130 Skoda fabia vrs. im wanting to get a little more smoke on my tune as it’s quite a clean map at the moment, I’ve heard it can increase power slightly and increase turbo spool, as well as blacking out everyone that tries to race you just wondering what could happen if I do it and if/what damage could be caused? specs are: Pd150/ gt1749 turbo standard injectors 2.25inch straight through mapped to 185bhp
  12. The leak is right at the bottom behind the bumper, I think it’s where it meets the radiator but not 100% sure. It’s been there since I’ve had the car and I’ve never had to keep topping the coolant up, been a drop or two every day at most but seem to be losing coolant faster within the past month or so, but yeah I’ll get that sorted then go from there, thanks👍
  13. Hi, just wondering if someone could answer a few questions about possible headlift on my 07 fabia vrs. I’ve owned the car ablut 8 months and since I’ve had it I’ve had a very slight coolant leak from one of the pipes, since it’s been very small and losing barely any coolant I’ve decided to leave it. I bought the car standard but in the past 8 months I’ve done a few mods, pd150 turbo, fmic, 6puk clutch etc… only modification I haven’t done yet is the pd150 headbolts. Over the past 2 months I’ve been having to top up the coolant about once a week, it isn’t loosing it massively but I’m not sure if the head is starting to lift? I have the pd150 headbolts ready to go in I just don’t want to pay to get them fitted for it to not fix my coolant leak if it is headlift and if it’s too far gone? How do I tell if it’s 100% headlift so I know to get the full head gasket replaced at the same time as doing the bolts, or if I can just put the bolts in and everything be fine. car is running 185hp 385nm, milage is 130k thanks
  14. The garage I went to said it will be the bearing as it’s making a bit of a rattle noise when on boost, car would smoke if it was seals and it’s not. I’ve read that you can take a gt1752 to about 220bhp safely as apposed to the pd150 people saying you can’t go much higher than 200? I will be wanting to get the car to around 220 in the future so the 1752 seems more suited for me, I’m just curious if I’d need all the supporting mods straight away or if I could wait until I can afford it all and just run my current map for now? Would it cause damage if I was to run it at the current power on the hybrid turbo?
