Skoda Superb 2012 2.0 tdi Battery Drain
SkodaSuperb12 replied to SkodaSuperb12's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Hi Pls clarify what a cycling relay is ( I know what a relay is ) Thanks For draining batteries or making noises ? Ta -
Annoying battery drain killing car after just a few days unused New battery so not the battery One thing I am getting when car is turned off is a relay type noise (almost fizing noise) from under the bonnet As you look under the bonnet at the back right hand side it appears to be from under the plastic trims very close to the screen No idea what electrics are under there ? I have original satnav / stereo , no dash cams etc but any clues to look for would be helpful Thanks

Superb 2 2010 2.0tdi Battery Drain
SkodaSuperb12 replied to CzechPassat's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
I have exactly the same problem , 12 plate Superb 2.0 tdi , battery new and won't last more than 3 days , currently having to disconnect battery if not using the car for a few days -
Just a follow up to this issue When tank was fairly low on fuel i accessed the fuel pump and float sender in the tank I exercised the gloat sender back and forwards with my hand Put it all back together and so far guage is now reading correct Filled the car up and so far the needle now shows full correctly So looks like the issue is a dodgy in tank sender Will see how I get on now
-
Thanks for comments I personally am beginning to think that my fuel guage issue is now either a varying resistance issue either through corroded contact or the float resistor mechanism failing / sticking Yesterday the fuel guage was on red , today it reads different and more correct at below half tank I think inspecting the tank will now be necessary as its clearly not just adjustment Can't wait, not
-
Thanks for comments My guage is well out With a 60 litre tank I can brim it till I see fuel ,it never goes above 3/4 then after about 250 miles , I hit fuel light I know from refilling about 25 / 30 litres Istill have lots of fuel left Car should easily do 400 miles around town So possibly I could adjust on VCDS ? That's interesting

Skoda Superb 2012 2.0 tdi Anyone got any info on what the fuel sender resistance readings at reserve & full should be ? My fuel guage only reads 3/4 full when brimmed and it then shows empty / fuel light on when clearly there is lots of fuel left Thought I would start by checking Ohms readings before pulling it all apart Also just out of interest can vagcom or whatever software adjust the fuel guage to suit my resistance readings ? Thanks

EGR code P0403 Superb 2.0 TDI 90k
SkodaSuperb12 replied to SkodaSuperb12's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
I spoke with Skoda parts quoting car info for a price on new EGR ( £340 plus vat ) They confirmed there is a vacuum solenoid which does something to the EGR, about £45 plus vat I note your comments re Engine Code , I also agree to a degree about EGR cleaners and injector cleaners in the fuel tank The only real way to clean an EGR is strip / soak and clean it It would be interesting to fully understand how the EGR opens , when / how long / what temperature / stays open / open & closes / how frequent Anyway, my emulator delete arrives in post today, so if my EGR continues to play up in the future I can fit it -
EGR code P0403 Superb 2.0 TDI 90k
SkodaSuperb12 replied to SkodaSuperb12's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Hi By engine code I mean fault code as in post above P0403 = EGR circuit fault Strangely enough I have done 2 long journeys and all OK at present I have purchased an emulator EGR delete and will keep this in reserve , at present I am running fuel cleaner in the tank now and will also try an EGR spray cleaner for what it's worth If EGR completely fails I can then delete it , however the car is running so well and never showed any physical signs of hesitation / poor idle etc that I will carry on as I am at present and see how things go -
EGR code P0403 Superb 2.0 TDI 90k
SkodaSuperb12 replied to SkodaSuperb12's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Code in post P0403 Yes it has a vacuum solenoid One part of the EGR is motor operated , there is also a other part vacuum operated -
Superb 2012 2.0 tdi 90k miles Flashing glow plug light came on driving the other day and then reduced power mode Plugged in to see code P0403 Turn engine off and it's then been OK for many miles , it's a bit concerning as I use car to tow a light caravan and limp mode on a motorway wont be fun So it points towards EGR issue, yet the car drives perfectly, no idle issues , no flat spots , no hesitation , engine temps all look normal So for reliability do I start to consider changing the EGR ? Might be cheaper to change to EGR vacuum solenoid first as that's only £45 ? Could it be an electrical issue / poor connection causing this fault code? Any advice please, thanks

Hi new ti me car , 91k miles , done 1500 faultless miles of mixed journeys then flashing glow plug lighthas come on driving recently. Car goes into reduced power mode. Put on a reader and code P0403 comes up, EGR Control circuit. Quick Google and this could point to EGR solenoid valve playing up ? Car drives / Idles / Accelerates perfectly when light off so I don't think EGR valve is actually stuck ? Any informative thoughts ?

Superb 2012 TDI Fual Guage not reading full
SkodaSuperb12 replied to SkodaSuperb12's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Seen a few YouTube videos on calibrating the correct reserve level But as you say likely a wrong resistance figure either due to corrosive connectors or faulty sender https://youtu.be/evBqjMyqpsY -
Superb 2012 TDI Fual Guage not reading full
SkodaSuperb12 replied to SkodaSuperb12's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
Hi , filled it up to the top slowly until evidence of brimming Needle still shows just 3/4 Looks like either a resistance sender fault or pos needs recalibration on vagcom I am going to monitor it on trip to see what dial reads as fuel gets low in tank It's def faulty -
Hi New to me 12 plate 2 TDI , when I filled up at the garage themselves guage is only reading 3/4 ? After a bit of googling I understand the guage can be recalibrated by software, although fuel tank would need to be at reserve level Any other tips ? Someone suggested disconnecting battery ? Could be a resistance fault with sender in tank ? Any thoughts ? Thanks
