Fairly sure my EGR cooler is leaking - slow loss of coolant, intermittent white smoke/steam but oil is fine. No visible leak externally, tested the coolant yesterday and the bubble test confirmed combustion gas leaking into the coolant.
Reading up on the issues and watching some how-to's it doesn't normally look a terrible job to replace the unit however it's also suggested on various forums/threads its a pig of a job on the 4x4 and about 8 hours labour, mostly in getting access but I can't find any great detail, other than the transfer box being in the way.
Does anyone have any direct experience of the job on a 4x4 model? I'm fairly competent on the tools as I've spent years working on bikes, is it nuts to try and attempt as a home job?
