    Also meant to say the frequency of the noise increases with speed. Initially it sounded like something like a brake disc catching, bit I realised it stopped when I turned off the heating fan. Thanks for any suggestions🙂

    Hi . Newbie to the forum. Our 56 reg Octavia'VRS seems to have this issue. Regular grinding noise only audible when car heater fan on. Does seem to be getting worse. Is this needing urgent attention or can we drive with the heater and air con off until we find a good time to get a repair?
