After suffering system reboots for 3-4 weeks and complaining to dealer, they updated software from 1896 to 1941 two days ago. Seemed to take them a few hours but no issues yet - still early days. Skoda Octavia vRS iV estate January 2021 15k miles.

Bit annoying tbh especially if trying to get fresh air to the face. Not a dealbreaker. Am 15 months in and used to it.

Had left this for a while and checked recently and seats and steering wheel climate control settings all working fine. Must have been an OTA software update as I didn’t have to hard reset.

I’m out and about for a few weeks now will try the hard reset and let you know how it goes.

Raised this with my dealer and physically demonstrated the issue when in for a recent 10k service. They hadn’t heard of this. When collecting later said it had been fixed with software update to 1896. Checked next day and still happening. Not spoken to dealer again but will raise it again.

I’ve noticed exactly the same thing recently and haven’t figured out why the toggle for heated steering wheel keeps defaulting to off. Weather hasn’t been cold enough to check if wheel actually comes on.

Maybe time travel is the way forward 🤔

I’ve not posted on this topic for a while but had one previous instance of a flat 12V battery and being locked out despite the Hybrid battery being fully charged (and unplugged). I have since always left the main charging cable plugged in, sometimes for days, with no further problems. I also had many instances of rear red side lights coming on and going off, both with charging cable connected and also not connected. I’ve since sold that car and a week ago picked up my new 22MY vRS iV estate. No issues at all with software, batteries or lights but very early days. Fingers crossed.

Collected my VRS iV estate/combi this evening ordered end of July in UK. Looks great in Race Blue at night but not had chance to get a proper look or drive yet. Options fitted are DCC, Canton, blind spot/side assist, rear camera, wireless charging, front and rear winter pack with tri-zone climate, virtual pedal. Picture taken in near freezing conditions and car starting to ice over. Good luck to forum members on getting their cars quickly. Worth the wait.

Update: Arranged collection of vRS iV estate for Monday. Dealer has said all ordered options fitted, waiting to see for myself

Dealer advised on Friday that my car is now in the UK (code 40). So awaiting transportation to dealer and PDI. 1-2 weeks maybe?

Close to start of August. Order placed 27 July, order confirmed by Skoda 18 August. No updates from dealer (no build date info) until 17 December when told that car is built and recently arrived in Germany awaiting ship. Will be chasing again this week as no further update since. Hope your order is processed and car at least in production.

If it helps my dealer is honouring the 0% finance deal from July. Likewise, awaiting shipping from Emden or possible update that car is now in the UK.

Nice one! Mine was ordered at same time and was told it was at Emden awaiting shipping 2 weeks ago so hopefully here soon.

Looks like things are moving. Just had a call from the dealer saying my vRS iV estate in race blue is now built and recently arrived in Germany. It’s now awaiting the ship so the dealer expects to have it early January. I’ve not had any indication that anything has been descoped. Keep the faith everyone.

I have a nearly new vRS iV hatch currently but also have an estate version on order. I don’t pay bik tax and chose the iV due to my driving profile - 80% of journeys fully electric. I’ve had the car for 10 weeks, covered 1,650 miles and only put 21 litres (£30) in this week as I have a long journey on Friday. I also fully charge daily. Love the way the car drives and it is really quiet and comfortable when in ev mode.

Interesting to read that a number of people have had 12v battery issues. I have a vRS iV hatch from September 21 and noticed the rear red side lights switching on and off randomly, often when plugged in and charging. The front lights didn’t come on. One morning went to start the car and couldn’t unlock with either fobs. Called out Skoda Assist who jump started the car due to flat battery. The HV battery gets charged pretty much every day and was at 100%. When I reviewed security cam footage found that the rear lights had come on and gone off a number of times during the night and on other nights. At 7 that morning the cam showed that all hazard lights started flashing this time and after 20 seconds the headlights started flashing as well lasting for 6 minutes presumably until the battery died. No alarm sounded or alert in the App. Took it to local Skoda dealer and after checking stated that there had been a technical bulletin issued for this ‘fault’ and added my car to it. Waiting for a fix to be released. I’ve started leaving it plugged in charging overnight now. I’ve also had the Infotainment system switch itself off once and a bunch of rear alerts (traffic, camera, rear park, manoeuvre assist, etc) also showed. Managed to reset Info system by holding on/off button for 10s as per manual and this cleared all fault warnings as well. Odd.

Spoke to my dealer this week and my vRS iV estate in race blue (canton, dcc, rear camera, full winter pack, blind spot) ordered end of July should have entered build in week 43. It hasn’t and dealer doesn’t know when it will. So technically not been given a build date yet, but week 43 was probably based on original quoted date of end of December when ordered. What they did say was that the only update they would get (or perhaps give me) is when it was complete and leaving factory.

Hi everyone. I’m brand new to the forum but have been following this thread with interest since ordering my vRS iV at the end of July in the UK. To be fair to the dealer I was quoted end of December 21 and I’ve been kept up to date, including the latest factory shutdown news. However, I wanted to change cars earlier so opted to buy a Sept 21 registered vRS iV (Race Blue, DCC, Canton, blind spot, HUD) with a similar spec, but was hatch rather than estate. Have to say really enjoying the car and it compares well to my previous Jaguars, Audi and BMW. I’ve kept my factory order running and dealer is keen to help me swap out of this car in a few months.
