  1. Additional info (as it is now dark outside) -- when headlights on, the entire climate control console (three knobs and both AC/recycler buttons when pressed in, and decide to stay clicked in!) light up OK. Just no blower activity.
  2. Hi Ken. Thanks for response. I just checked the strip fuses - all OK. I had a quick look at the blower earlier also - and it looks pretty newish, so I guess my next step will be to get a meter onto the points before / after resistor and blower.
  3. Hi. I picked up a MK1 Skoda Octavia for my daughter to learn in. It is in great shape except this week, all the climate control buttons have ceased to operate. Sequence of events: - all working OK (including AC and the backlight on the AC button OK). Recycling button (and its backlight) would not function, but did not bother me. - suddenly AC button not lighting up / AC not kicking in, and turning fan power between 0-4 not working. - checked (in-cabin) fuses = all OK. - removed the fan blower resistor, and checked with meter = all appears OK. - loosened area around the climate controls, just in case something had got lodged behind buttons. Whilst control unit was not screwed in, with ignition on, the recycle button now lights up, but still no response from AC and no fan power. Any ideas/suggestions? Many thanks.
