  1. Thanks to all contributors! The wrecker just got back to me - the Superb rim is a 18x8 ET35! so definitely a "non starter". Carlston, your idea of exploring other VAG makers of the correct rim size makes perfect sense - I will explore that option. Many thanks!
  2. Hi Guys Thanks for the replies. From what I have been able to research, the OEM wheels on my Octavia vRS are: 7.5Jx18 5/112 ET51 d57.1. An OEM rim from a 2008-2015 Superb 3T 2.0 TDI apparently should be 7.5Jx18 5/112 ET46 d57.1, so (depending on the width which I need to check with the wrecker) the only difference is the 5mm offset. I guess my question now would be (provided they are the same rim width & run the same tyre size) Would having a wheel with a 5mm offset variance to the other 3 x rims on the car cause any problems/be safe? Thanks for your input!
  3. Hi all - New first ever poster here from New Zealand. Firstly, my apologies if this topic has been covered previously, however I am in a hurry to potentially conclude a deal as otherwise I may miss out. Anyway - after nearly 20 years of driving Renaults, I have just purchased my first Skoda - a 2017 (pre facelift) Octavia vRS liftback with 6 speed DSG. This car has factory fitted 18" Gemini rims, however it comes with only a space saver spare. In NZ (particularly the South Island) space savers are not particularly practical due to some of the distances between the remote rural towns. I am therefore looking at full size second hand rims from wreckers yards, but all the Octavia wheels have been sold. One wrecker has offered me an 18" rim from a 2015 year Skoda Superb- this appears to be a 5 x point star pattern, with each spoke comprising 3 x individual "spokes". Can anybody please advise me whether this wheel would interchange successfully between the Superb & my Octavia? I'm not concerned with the appearance of having mismatched wheels, but I am concerned whether such a set up would upset open road handling - particularly if it borders on the unsafe! Thanks for any advice.
