  1. I’m just afraid not to %#£& the dash and leave a permanent “scar” on it. At this time looks way better, almost like before the incident. If it will bother I will use your advice and source the trim from wreckers and visit a garage to replace the trim.
  2. There was a heatwave where I live and most of the week the sun was shining on my dash. The LED strip looks way better, it’s almost like it should be, but I think it never will be like “new”.
  3. Thank you guys for all the help, I really appreciate all your posts. Unfortunately the manager of the car wash is “sick” , so this means that for an indefinite period he will be unavailable. I have a feeling that he won’t be able to help me with the repairs, or costs of the repairs. The work that I would have to do to myself to remove the trims is a wee bit overwhelming… I will give it a few more days. Thank you one more time.
  4. Do I need some special tools to be able to remove the trim? Should I start from the driver or passenger side? It would help me a lot if you could send me a link to a video guide (I did search youtube with no success…) Thanks.
  5. Hi all, thank you very much for the replies. I have done a few more photos today and I am not sure what I saw, but I just can assume that there is some mineral (or salt?) build up under the LED Strip. I am pretty sure that is the remains of the cleaning liquid… I will attach some photos for you! Please leave a message with you opinions on what could it be. @Frankenfurterthanks for the reply, I did contact the car wash and we did take @ApertureS and @Hdsn555 advice to let the strip dry out for a few days.
  6. Hi, I just had my MK3 washed and valeted a few days ago. A boy who was cleaning my dash decided that it will be a good idea to soak my dash with some cleaning liquid. It looks like that cleaning liquid worked it’s way inside? or behind? the LED Strip and messed the illumination. I will attach some daytime photos that were taken just after the valeting and some nighttime photos that were taken 3 days after. I just want to know how could some general cleaning liquid mess up the LED Strip and what can I do to restore it to its original form. Thanks for your help and tips in advance!
  7. @roottootthank you once again for the good advices!
  8. @roottoot thank you for the advice, I will try the tesco momentum 99 (E5) next time, or some other premium petrol. Btw, what is the best premium petrol that I could use in my car? Can I ask you one more thing please? What is the ‘ Italian tune up’? I do not know this term…
  9. Thank you @roottoot, tyre pressures are ok , I just had 4 new tyres fitted when I got the car, air filter is ok and spark plugs are also ok. Tha car has had 30k miles when I got it. The tank was brimmed and I used the car in ECO mode for 90% of the time (10% in sport mode). I just refueled today (asda petrol) the tank was almost dry (15 miles range left) and the tank drank up 67 litres of petrol. I do not push the car hard in eco mode, I drive it normally. @paddywack1878thank you for the comment, before this I had a sluggish 16 year old car, so I wanted something snappy and with more power. To be honest I do not want to change it to a hybrid, nor for any other car, I like my ‘new’ superb, it is my dream car so the problem is with the distances that I drive? This is why I get these dissapointing fuel consumption numbers?
  10. Yes, it is right, usually it takes 5 mins for me to drive from home to work, if it’s a busy day, maybe 7 mins… if I go shopping (asda\tesco\hardware stores) I do not ha to drive more than 10 mins \ 4-5 miles.
  11. Hi, I just got a new car a month ago, a 2017 Superb SportLine 2.0 TSI DSG with 220ps. The problem is that tha car has a terrible fuel consumption, I had with a full tank (66 litres) 305 miles, 80% of the drive was in the city and very short trips, I usually do two 5 min. / 3 mile trips per day (going/coming from work). I was hoping to get around 28/35 mpg… why is the car burning the petrol so quickly? thanks in advance for the help and answers. cheers.
