  1. Had similar in my car, but after a couple of weeks of being on and off it stayed on continuously. Turned out to be a faulty "manifold flap sensor" which was replaced under warranty yesterday. Was told if outside warranty it would have cost >£400. I assume this was for the part alone. Should add that this was on a 2010 2.0 TSI vRS with 43k miles.
  2. It's not the Basic Price, it's the OTR price without the VAT. There's a difference. The 1.2 TSI is £9975 OTR with the VAT free deal, not £9504.
  3. £1000 more gets you the same spec 1.2 TSI at the current list prices through the VAT free deal. 1.2 TSI is the better choice, but £1000 is a significant saving.
  4. Similar here, 5-10% better MPG moving from 225/40/18 Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2s to 205/55/16 Nokian WRG2s.
  5. Yes, I'm using 205/55/16 so difference should me minimal. Fuel economy increase was typically 5-10% more. Part of that could easily be down to a more sedate driving style. They look terrible, but ~£500 for a set of steels, tyres & trims is a cheap way to keep moving safely when the snow hits. Best part is not having to pay someone to switch tyres over twice a year. If I'd planned better I'd have found a cheap set of VAG 16" alloys, but I left it far too late last year.
  6. You won't like me. Car = 2.0 TFSI vRS, Me = 28 years old, 0 points, 7 years no claims, 20k miles a year Price = £301 fully comp with AXA.
  7. I thought I'd posted in here already, but sadly not. My Octavia vRS with 16" steel wheels, Nokian WR-G2 tyres and Skoda trims. Looks crap but works wonderfully. Oddly got almost 10% better fuel economy last winter with these fitted over the normal 18" alloys and summer tyres. Refitted them again yesterday, just in time too as we've now got 2 inches of snow outside.
  8. Holding it for a few seconds will reset the tyre pressure monitoring, confirmed by it making a bong sound. You should reset this after adjusting tyre pressures, get new tyres fitted or switch wheels.
  9. 1 litre of oil consumed in 18,000 miles in my 2010 vRS TSI.
  10. On the other hand, my new petrol vRS has 13,000 miles on the clock, and the computer recons theres another 412 days or 6,200 miles until it needs to be services. I almost don't want it to be that far away. :|
  11. I've fitted steel wheels and winter tyres to both of our cars. My car is insured with Skoda Insurance, no fee. Partners car is insured with Budget Insurance, no fee. I described the change as winter tyres fitted to steel wheels which are the manufacture recommended size. Neither had an issue, just made a note.
  12. I decided to buy some Skoda 16" wheel trims for my vRS. Part number CDB600001, £63.00 inc VAT for a set of 4. Took 2 days to arrive at the dealer. I don't think they look too terrible.
