  3. Hi Bought for my Octavia VRS, but never put it on car before I changed the car. I have the V750 for it. Cheers Andy

  5. Hi Eddie, Is this any good I went out to the car but it must be under the spare.
  6. First thing I did before I even called motorpoint was to call the insurer and told them it was an import, they said its not a problem, as long as it is on their system. But to be honest they must just presume import spec is the same as the UK because the make and model is on their system. However they can play the tapes back if I need to claim, I also called after buying the car, and I clearly told them it was an import again.
  7. I have looked into the alarm and there is no switch to disable the internal sensor, so there is no alarm on this car ! I cannot believe they never fitted one standard on all VRS versions. Not to happy about this as a did ask and was told there was one. Has anyone bought the OEM alarm and retro fitted it ? I found this from a previous post http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/other-8/oem-1k8951605a-car-alarm-system-kit/ Cheers Andy
  8. I bought one a few weeks, ago. It has stop start, DAB and bluetooth, It has crap wheels but I will change these after the winter, it has no locking wheel nuts though. It comes with a spare wheel set as well as the full netting pack for the boot. On the UK configurator with extras it worked out are 27-28k with all the extras. It doesn't have the VRS button either but not to bothered about that as I will be replacing the exhaust anyway. PS, As far as I know it will only be 2 year warranty in the UK, and then I have have to take my own out for the 3rd year. The only thing I haven't tested yet is the alarm but was assured it was on it. They also did have 12 cars to start with now down to 4. Here is the original thread I started http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/372928-advice-needed-on-import-vrs-tsi-dsg/ Cheers JJ
  9. Hi All, Just got my VRS a few weeks ago now, and really want to get a new exhaust. I found a few via youtube. Remus Supersprint ? I was thinking of the non resonated Scorpion, but not sure if it would be to loud, does anyone have one, ad could post some videos ? Thanks JJ
  10. Hi All I just got my VRS a few days ago and with the stereo off, I can hear this to, for reference I am running 17s with CINTURATO P7 tyres due to car being an import from Cyprus. Thanks JJ
  11. Is it possible to fit the Canton or another sub woofer easily ? I mean I don't suppose the loom has the sub woofer cabling to the boot by default on all cars ? Cheers JJ
  12. Do you reckon you could retro fit this to an exiting 2 wheel drive car without major surgery ??
  13. How much did you pay ? I have now bought the VRS TSI DSG today. It seems to have everything I need except it has 17s instead of the standard 18s in the UK, I will change these after winter for 19s. Here is the spec can anyone decode this to advise exactly what it has options wise ?
  14. Hi All, Has anyone changed the alloys on their VRS ? If so could you post pictures please. Thanks Andy
  15. The thing is with this "scandal" is this was known about for sometime and nothing was said about it. Is seems this whole thing is being brought up to have a go at VAG and German goverment which has close ties to the VAG board. I would get your car an enjoy it, I don't know how you resisted this long with your new car just sitting there.....;-) Cheers JJ
  16. Hi DC, Yes, its one from Motorpoint, I am sure this will be changed to mph via diagnostic tools, I don't think they could sell it legally in the UK without changing it. I found this older post on the subject or changing via VCDS, but even though I could do it myself I will make sure it is done before parting with the cash. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/210638-change-mfi-from-kmh-to-mph/ Cheers JJ
  17. I see what your are saying but the car is £19,999 and it might have 17s, but If I add up the options that are on it on the UK configurator it comes to at least £27k. So its not a case I cannot afford the UK spec one, but that I am saving a boat load of money on options on a brand new 65 plate car with 11 miles on. Although frowned upon by UK dealers for obvious reason, we live in the Euopean community so surely part numbers will be exactly the same. Cheers JJ
  18. Hi, I have put down a deposit on a unregistered White VRS TSI DSG seems fully loaded to me in all respects incluing NAV and full leather, but it only has 17" inch wheels as standard in the country of origin ? The car is from Cypus and I am sure you know what company I am accquiring it from. I called Skoda UK to ask about warranty, and they said a standard UK car is 2 years with 1 extra if under 60,000mls. I called Cyprus Skoda/dealer ? and was informed it was 5 years up to 100,000 kls. I am not sure why the standard wheels are 17" in Cyprus, but I suppose I can always get a set of 19s in a few months either the Skoda VRS ones or third party. When I realised it was 17s I thought I might just forget about it, but now I know it has full leather it makes a difference. Am I making a mistake buying an import ? I am going to keep the car and modify it for a good few years, so resale shouldn't be to bad, after all it is a European car. Thanks JJ
  19. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1c3188bbb4 Looks pretty convincing with the full interior.. even seems to have the brakes as well.
  20. Its not beyond the realms of possibility that they will never crack newer ECUs, I had a Auris SR180 before the Fabia, and the Denso ECUs have never been cracked in many years. Cheers
  21. I am actually down in Manchester at the moment, but can see you have a dealer in Salford from that map. Can they currently perform the remap ? Thanks
  22. I went to Awesome GTI. yesterday and they can do the remap for £349. ( Closer to me than driving to Shark ) The only thing stopping me booking it in is the thought the brakes won't be able to cope. I think 312mm at the front might be the way to go. How hard would it be to fit a VRS rear beam to the Monte ? Cheers JJ
  23. Do you have the hot air blower on when you smell burning ? I seem to be getting a burning smell when I have the blower on max head and full speed thought it was just because the car is new with 2000 mls on. Would this be correct ? Cheers
