  1. I ordered parts from Germany on Monday. Came to £350 including all the hangers and connectors 😕 £50 ish for the delivery
  2. Yeah, I've found quite a few options in Europe. They all take a month or don't deliver at all. Nevermind the MOT being on the 8th of May this means the car is off the road until the parts arrive. Is there any downsides to letting the MOT expire? What website is the screenshot from btw?
  3. I've been phoning around just about all garages that have "exhaust" in their Google listings. The kwikfits and farmers don't even get back to me and noone is able to source it. Seems like my only option is bespoke stainless for a third of the value of the car. What are the chances of a different VAG car having an exhaust that fits?

  5. Hello, My new to me Octavia keeps me on my toes. It's now decided to shed it's exhaust a month before the MOT. It's rusted clean off right behind the mid silencer, right at the base of the pipe. My first thought was to replace the whole lot but I'm struggling to source parts, everything is out of stock and even škoda has it on back order. What's going on? Any tips on how to get it roadworthy asap? Cheers

  7. Hello, I'm looking for help pinpointing the issues in the drivetrain of my 2010 7speed DSG Octavia. The symptoms are the worst when the car is cold and nearly entirely go away when the oil gets up to temp. This is actually the reason I made the mistake of buying the car a mere 1500 miles ago. So far there was only one instance when the car went into limp mode and locked my in 2nd and 4th gears only and one time when it wouldn't go into gear at all. Both were on cold mornings and both went away after a restart. A more common symptom is something I'm struggling to describe. The car intermittently stops pulling for a split second, it's quite violent in low gears and barely noticeable at cruising speeds. It feels as if the gearbox attempts to shift up but fails. It happens in manual mode and in top gear too so can't be that. I have a session booked with the local DSG magicians but wanted to get some idea of what to expect. Cheers
