  1. Thanks but don't really want to change the wheels. I think with 225/50/17 the speedo will be more accurate as well, with 45s at an indicated 70, real speed (sat nav) is 66 !!
  2. Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking of doing the opposite, bigger tyres on the rear. Its an estate so taller tyres better for carrying loads, also gives it a bit if a nose down stance too.
  3. New front tyres needed on my '06 octy 2.0 this. Currently shod with 225/45/17, thinking of having new 225/5017 fitted, then putting them on the back when getting home, so running 225/50/17 on rear and 225/45/17 on front. Eventually going to 50's all round. Will I have any problems, traction control, ecu etc ? Not a boy racer and never been a fan of low profiles, would rather have a quieter, comfier ride. Thanks for any advice.
  4. Thanks guys, I've checked the fuses and all looks OK, I'll check the wiring. It looks like a previous owner has had a meddle as there's a hole in the bottom of the drivers door pocket and there's 4 wires sticking out, a blue, a brown and 2 blacks, that look like they've been cut off from something ?, very strange 🤔
  5. Cheers thank you, probably going to sell the Fabia and keep the Octavia. Been offered £320 by the scrap man but its far too good to scrap.
  6. Hi all, new owner here. I bought a 55 plate Fabia estate 1.4 back in October and was hooked l. So much so that yesterday I bought an Octavia 1.9 L&k estate !!! Both great cars but with very similar problems, the Fabias front windows don't work and the central locking doesn't lock/unlock the drivers door and on the Octavia the rear tailgate doesn't open!!! Apart from that I love 'em !!!
