I own a 2013 Yeti. Over the last 18 months the radio has intermittently stopped working. This started as just the odd day but has progressively become weeks of not working.
I understand that there’s some device in there somewhere that decides the battery hasn’t got enough charge to power up the essential parts of the car so sacrifices the radio unit to save essential millivolts.
A brand new heavy duty battery hasn’t done the trick so I’m assuming there’s a problem with the sacrificial switch in the radio.
Is there any way of disabling this device or can anyone help replace the troublesome component without me having to buy a replacement radio/satnav system.
I’ve tried the fuse replacement/ battery disconnect tricks but they don’t work.
I would really appreciate any help or suggestions anyone might have.
Many thanks
