I was told by three specialists i cannot do it myself , one of them being VW Retrofit in Redditch , hence the question. I have since posting updated my maps successfully myself. I am annoyed such specialists could state such. One wanted £100 to do it ! i bought the download from ebay on an sd card for£27. I am happy with that.

Whats 195 ? Well it was money well spent, zipping , unzipping , etc . Cost was £27 , a sd card is £7 ish .

Well before i looked into updating the sat nav properly and got seriously frustrated about it i had ordered an update sd card from ebay. it arrived today, so i tried it and it appears to have updated my maps to 21/22. Took no time at all. This is my screenshots after
Excellent Thankyou Odd that three people who have really really good reputations say DIY is not possible though🙁So as its not totally clear i should be able to update the hard drive stored maps by downloading to an sd card and then it will work ok ? Why have three people told me it is not possible to do? One of them wants me to send my glovebox unit to him and he will do it and return for £120 ish.This is the screenshot from my system Have spoken to my local VW Main Dealer, who don’t have an answer yet for me.
So you are saying its possible to update the hard drive this way ? Three specialists have said it is not possible.This is my headunit. I don’t have any sd cards in slots 1 or 2. I am told it is mib2 . The Nav works fine. Maps are held on the hard drive. I need to access the hard drive which i think is the problem. Downloading the maps onto sd card to then update the hard drive i am told i cannot do myself. Another image
Jumping on this thread….sorry Is there an easy way to update the hard drive maps on my Dynaudio Discover Pro DVD Sat Nav. Maps are loaded at factory onto the hard drive and never been updated. Apparently you can’t just download the maps onto a sd card and load them up yourself 🙁Hi After advice and someone to update my sat nav maps which are hard drive based and i am unable to do what is necessary to update them. Am in Ipswich. Have used Eddie NL in the past on my Edition 30 and stalked him to this page. Hi Eddie I have spoken to others elsewhere and have an option to send off my glovebox unit to someone i don’t really know , which is off putting tbh. Anyone else resolved this update process ?
