  1. Thank you for the advice everyone, just wanted to note for future reference if anyone stumbles on this thread because they're trying to do the same setup as me that it does work. Very pleased with it, however it does lead to a bit of a spaghetti junction of wires, esp since i used wagos for the Y connections which are good and easy but take up a good bit of room esp since I needed to use 5 to power the 2nd unit. @AnnoyingPentium's post in this thread is v helpful - better to do that over what I did, however from what I found such Skoda units are more expensive to get hold of (at least from my searches), so if you want to do it the cheap (and painful) then some VW units work, you just need a Facia too.
  2. I see, I think I'm just gonna do what you said in the other comment and take the hit, buy a set and see if it works or not. I think it will as from research these CD changers are also used in other VW vehicles, including ones that used the Gamma head unit Trying to go back in time a bit lol. I already have a modern bluetooth etc head unit, just gonna but the Gamma in the other DIN spot where the cubby hole is, set up a Y connector to give it power, then set up RCA to AUX, connecting into my modern head unit, so that I can use both without frying anything.
  3. Hello, I would just wondering if anyone would know if the 1J0035186D VW Gamma head unit is compatible with the stock 1J6035111A Fabia CD changer? Many thanks
