Yeah Gaz, looks exactly the same. That blue always was the best colour in my humble opinion!! Lol. I just can't justify spending money I don't really have on trying to fix something that I can't guarantee can even be fixed. My mechanic has told me he thinks the best thing I can do now is cut my losses and try and get as much back out of the car as I can before I weigh it in. It's just having the resources available to break it myself, which is something I don't really have, so that's why I popped it on here incase any other mk1 owners need anything off this one or would even want the whole car as a donor car. Be nice if parts of her could live on!

Yeah, she's been a lovely car, (when she's behaved herself of course!) I'll be very sad to see her go, especially because of all the work she's had done in the past year. But, like you say, unfortunately I don't know what excess damage has been done to the engine with the oil pump failing. My turbo and cams could have taken a battering and I would be paying hundreds to try and fix an unfixable engine! It just such a shame because apart from the obvious issues there's a load of salvageable parts! Cest la vie eh?! 🤷🏼‍♀️🙃

Hi, Thanks for the reply. No, it's not the pump drive, it's the balance shaft that sits inside of the unit that comes with a hex key. I can get the pump itself and the hex key off GSF but the balance shaft itself is the nightmare to come by. I think it's time to cut my losses with her unfortunately. 😔

I think it may be time to say goodbye to the old girl due to my previous post about the oil pump failure. I'm devastated as shes only just had a clutch and flywheel last year, the timing done 4k miles ago and a DPF delete last month. With her being the elegance model she had full heated leathers etc all working, fsh and 9 month mot. I'm just wondering if anyone on here would be interested in making me an offer for her before I scrap her in. I'm located in Tyne & Wear.

So, I've experienced the dreaded oil pump failure in my 2.0tdi on an 08 plate. I've ordered a new pump and hex key from GSF but I'm really struggling to source a balance shaft. Can anyone please point me in the direction of where to go for ordering a new one. I've tried Ebay etc but they only use exchange services and I don't have the broken one as its obviously at the garage where my car is! Thanks in advance!

Hi... I have an 08 facelift elegance 2.0tdi.... Can I just double check the coming home function for the lights come as standard on this model please? It's in my manual and tells me how to activate it, which I've followedxl, but for whatever reason it's not working? As I understand its a standard function on my car but just after some clarity. Thanks!
