  1. That's the nugget. Yeah I know it comes off so I automatically assumed that the windscreen just comes as a glass panel sans fittings. 🤷‍♂️ I just can't find the part for sale anywhere and mine is ****ed on the passenger side 😆 It's not vital so maybe I'll query it with autoglass at some point.
  2. I left my windows open trying to air out the interior whilst it was blowing a gale, and was soon informed it had begun to hail so 🤦‍♂️ Yeah I bought a 240v heater fan thing to leave in there when it was really damp. Thank Jeff for Amazon 😆 I'd considered investing in an electric dehumidifier but the price tag scares me. Might have to have a look at that grommit beside the cabin filter I think and see how secure it is just in case.
  3. Good writeup! I neglected to notice there was a grommet all the way down there 😂 I cleaned the green off the sunroof and blew out the drains with an airline and that seems to have sorted the sunroof. I cleaned out the passenger side footwell of muck and have affixed the left hand scuttle panel down with some transparent gorilla tape for the time being 😂 and that seems to have stopped it from getting any damper. I also JB Welded the crack in the scuttle panel fixing plastic thing to secure it so hopefully that's one thing down. Mine appears damp on the surface but it's been steadily getting less so over the last few days I think. I had a buddy wetvac it alongside the rest of the interior because the mould-mobile was a rolling penicillin factory. I know the underlay will hold a lot of water, so maybe it's just wicking to the top? I bought a ten pack of those bathroom dehumidifiers and have been leaving 2-3 in the car so the moisture has somewhere to go if/when it decides to evaporate 😂
  4. Hello friends! Looking for a part number, or any info regarding where I can get the damn thing. There's a strip of metal that attaches to the bottom of the windscreen, which the scuttle panel cover thing then clips into. I was a plonker and damaged it, and now need a new one. I'll need a new windscreen at some point anyway but I doubt they come with the windscreen. It's #5 on the diagram here, where #4 is the windscreen itself and #1 is the panel. I've found 1U0845454 (https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/1u0845454-right-windscreen-trim-12665.html) but I think this might actually be the trim that runs down the edges of the windscreen? And not along the bottom. I'll be forever in your debt.
  5. I've got a '98 GSXR 750 that currently needs new brakes 😂
  6. Oh awesome, thanks for that! By the look of it I assume it's a watercooled heat exchanger like on a motorcycle? Any knowledge on whether these are similar or superior to a rad?
  7. Nice! What do you ride?
  8. Hello gentlemen & gentleladies I need to crawl under the thing to make 100% but I'm pretty darn sure my 1.8t Mk1 Octavia vRS doesn't have an oil cooler from factory. I'm going to put oil pressure & oil temp gauges on the motor at some point but I'm fairly sure you can repurpose standard hardware for the pickups for those. My question is this; if I were to slap a thermostatically controlled sandwich plate between the filter and the block and dump a oil cooler rad on it, will the standard oil pump be happy with that decision or would it necessitate a higher flowing oil pump? Thanks!
  9. That's what I'm hoping it is. Then I can finally move on to replacing the window regulators and then drive the bloody thing 😂
  10. I spent an afternoon with a 500ml oil drain syringe filled with water pouring it over the windshield and into the sunroof drains to try and replicate a leak and couldn't 😂 I did find that the part of the scuttle that fits into the pinch rail is cracked JUST above the cabin filter though. So I've run a bead of silicone under the lip of the rubber that interfaces against the windshield. Now I've just got to leave it in the rain and hope for the worst/best 😂
  11. Thanks! And thanks haha. Lactose intolerant 😂
  12. There's probably something to that actually. Maybe I'll put a second SMIC on the left hand side like the 2.5TDI's have 😂

  14. My man, not to hijack your post; I don't suppose I could bother you to share what I'm looking for in regards to the drain from underneath the scuttle panel? My passenger footwell was filling with water prior to purchase and the sunroof drain line *looks* to still be in situ. Hoping to just locate any drains that *might* lead into the cabin. I know the sunroof leaks around the edge but the water only seems to collect in the passenger footwell. 🤷‍♀️
  15. Hello! I'm on my second Skoda now and this one came with a free Briskoda sticker and some need for some TLC; and after having found this forum both through an internet search and recognising the name from said stickery boy, I have now joined and made my sticker ownership official.
