  1. I dare say though , in my defence, you had a diesel, and they often have uprated clutches due to the obvious higher torque a diesel will produce, for the same power. Additionally, I suspect they will have a clutch list where they designate an existing part based on the expected output of the vehicle - obviosuly factoring in diesels and torque spikes. My suspicion is that the 220 has been given a clutch that is only just good enough, e.g. 300 for my vehicle. Again many large salt pinches. Doesnt change the reality of the situation that my clutch is either failing or just not rated high enough, possibly both. Dont know all that much about best practices with those charts so apols, good to get some insight
  2. Kinda a noob tho - I for sure take the chart with a pinch of salt.
  3. So they do claim they use custom per vehicle maps. Imagine itll be similar to a golf GTI, but they offer a torque chart. Not taken it to a dymo myself to confirm... https://tdi-tuning.com/en-gb/car/skoda/octavia/20-vrs-tsi-217-bhp-220-ps-162-kw-350-nm-258-lbft/crtd4-multi-channel-petrol-tuning-box-chip Not sponsored or anything,, just what I have. originally bought it for a vauxhall insigia 163 2L turdo diesel. Not sure it was as noticable on that thing tho :P Sent it back for a new map. https://tdi-tuning.com/variant-datasheet/6436 is the supposed datasheet. I do note the data sheet is identical to the sheet for the equivalent golf GTI, so assume they used that https://tdi-tuning.com/en-gb/car/volkswagen/golf/20-gti-217-bhp-220-ps-162-kw-350-nm-258-lbft/crtd4-multi-channel-petrol-tuning-box-chip Hasnt thrown any errors for sure. FOr sure dont think its anywhere near 480 Nm Defo dont wan't any custom remaps for the same reason I dont want an uprated clutch.... for now.
  4. Hi forum - I have a removable timing adjust style tuning box (not in right now) I have found that when the box is installed, my clutch slips badly if the gear and revs are too high. This tells me not only that the box works (I could feel it did anyway) but that the clutch is basically not rated high enough for the tuning box. Impossible to get it to slip without the box :( - Thought the clutch was on its way, but clearly its fine in normal torque situations Can anyone advise? I dont really want to go through the rigmarole and expense of uprating the clutch. At least not till replacement time. Plus when you make modifications it starts getting into - insurance is a pain type territory. Best, Lith.
  5. Ack should change the title of this one to--- years. Updates are: Fitted Folding Wingmirrors with Black Shells , Puddle Lights. - Had to upgrade door card modules too Started installing 360 cameras, but this is currently in prog. Will update. Started installing blindspot alerts (not using official kit), just a third party kit. All hardware is in place for adaptive cruise - not wired the radar in yet (but suspect this is all thats left + coding)! The new stalks however do work for normal cruise so, guess we will see! Will update soon, with photos!
  6. Hi Dodge. I do recommend OBDeleven. It does have long coding but I've not used it: See attached screenies for what you can do, in particular you mentioned the unlock sound. Hundreds of options it feels like on there but that will vary by model. Which do you have? These are 'apps' and simplify the coding. 99% of the time once you have set the option you don't need to do it again. Not got any exp with carista sorry!! I haven't opened it for a while and spotted new lane keep assist options which I'll be playing with in the coming days! There are also free diagnostic tools to test car components like lights , actuators, etc. You need the obd11 dongle, but if you use android, only the cheaper one
  7. Thanks, I quite like the colour, so does my mother in law apparently xD
  8. So, thats fitted, There is for sure an improvement. Scared myself the other day, but this is the fastest thing I have ever driven so don't really know any different! Fuel wise, without fail I get 380-440 miles on a tank. Economy is not really any different over all. Getting a tuning box like that though you WILL get invalid MPG's. Because those are measured based on the fuel injector values, and they are one of the values being fudged. So Im measuring by miles to tank whihc is always the same! Yes, when I get around to it I will! I have tested the cameras and they do work, just not in the right place yet!
  9. Know its an old one, but is this possibly the USB / AUX input? (5)
  10. FOr anyone following this I have fitted the headunit (but not the 360 cams yet or the interiour lighting aspect) I have put in the tuning box, this for sure works, damn thing moves like crazy now, even in eco Tried to put in the dragonfly stalk, but the unit I got was faulty 😞 About to go on hols till saturday, but will post appropriately when I return.
  11. That would seem to be a solution too! Right, gonna dig into this. Thanks for your help all. 😄
  12. Whoever wired up mine didnt bother with that power 15 terminal on the backside.. but does seem to be the correct fuse. May see if I can add the recepticle and wire it in :)#
  13. Damnn, will check and report back....
  14. Oh man thanks @langers2k relay project box going in for that based on the ignition being on for these! Does the diagram show they both flow from the same cable? or do I need to sort two of them?
  15. Ooooh. maybe there is a distinct difference in the kit. Not sure how you;d check or what the differences might be.
