Hi all!
I'm new to the forum and the world of Skoda, just got my Superb Combi (MY21) two weeks ago, but I'm (unfortunately) already experiencing some problems, so I hope someone here would be able to help...
The problem:
- When I get into the car, my phone (bluetooth on, wifi on) is not able to connect most of the times to Android Auto. When I initiate the connection, it says "Unable to connect". If I hold the power off button for the infotainment system for ~20 seconds and restart it, then Android Auto connects without a problem. Until next time I turn off the car and get into it again, start the engine and the problem is there again, until I restart the system.
The circumstances:
- I think this issue started after the Skoda service enabled my Skoda Online services, as those were initially disabled and I was not able to login with my profile at all and become primary user. When this got fixed, it seems to be the same time where my issue with Android Auto began.
- If I am connected to the WiFi hotspot of the car, my Android Auto is offline (Spotify offline, Waze cannot search for addresses, etc.). I tracked down the root cause of this to be the fact that the WiFi hotspot of the car overtakes my mobile data connection, but I have not purchased a data plan, so I disabled the eSIM. This doesn't seem to affect the Skoda Connect services, as they still seem to work (online traffic info, petrol station prices, Skoda Connect App, etc.).
- I have tried even Factory Settings Reset but it didn't work, I still have the same issue even after it.
- My car is Skoda Superb Combi, Columbus infotainment. My phone is Huawei P30 Pro, Android 10.
Has anyone suffered from the same bug and have you resolved it?
Thanks in advance for any help!
