  1. Cheers β˜ΊπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ‘yes varta stuff is good. the one thats on is a name i have not heard of and its been on a fair while i think from a few owners back. these car dealers like you to take it to them so they can charge you a mint. i always like do my own car jobs if i can. cert battery changes anyway.
  2. cheers. i know i can get exactly same battery now off ebay so that will be a big plus. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜ƒ
  3. hi can anyone help on this issue. i want to put a new battery on my 2004 skoda fabia but these days even on cars this old its not that simple. do i fit it and just start up and drive off or do i have to code it in first. or do i have to get exactly the same battery as i am replacing. ? πŸ˜’πŸ˜•πŸ˜². nothing is simple these days. at one time you bought a battery took old one off and put new one on and that was it. i had a fiesta once and my god that was a nightmare to replace battery on. the ECU it all went heywire. i had to get hold of a ford technician and he told me do this and do that before car was ol again. cheers hope to hear off someone about this.
  4. Yeah very interesting points and tips there from various skoda fabia owners thanks β˜ΊπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ‘. i used silicone on the door panels its dead easy to do and i hope that stops the water getting in at last. the scuttle drain holes are clear i poked them out after taking wiper arms and scuttle cover off. but its still a crap design compared to other makes of car. why have a metal door panel on a metal door panel its silly. and the fact the doors go further into the car than other makes is puzzling. the whole design is stupid. plus not enough drain holes in the bottom of the door.
  5. I do know that. i taped them up to see if it was there that the leak was or whether it was getting in the actual door seals. like you say some cars do leak and some don.t regardless of age. this one i have is obviously going to be a bit of a nuisance.
  6. What a crap design these cars are eh. great cars to drive good engines but a useless waterseal to keep out the rain. i have recently had a very old skoda fabia 04 and its rains in in several places. can.t get at it yet as the weather is so bad. did you sort your 06 fabia out or got rid of it since 2019. ? on mine its both the door seals and the part under the skuttle cover below the windscreen where it gets in. i taped up the 3 windows but left the drivers one free to be opened. because a lot of water does get down the actual windows down into the doors. the seals do perish over time as the window winders are used a lot on the rear doors and the elec winders on the front doors. a real crap design really and i.m amazed people with much newer fabia.s still have this problem. grrrrrrr a lot of work to do when i can get at it 😠😠😠😠
