  1. Thank you. I've got a new siren on the way, I've seen a few other threads on here discussing them and decided the easiest way forward was to buy one from China as recommended by a few other people on here. If its just a plastic recess on the back of the old siren I'm tempted to see if I can pull it hard enough to snap the plastic so I can then get a spanner on each end of the nut and the bolt head. No great loss if such a primitive approach destroys the old siren, given the circuit board is likely to be damaged anyway
  2. I'm attempting to replace my alarm module and have successfully got to the metal box, removed the nut and bent the metal to access the unit. I'm having trouble with the nut/bolt pictured. As I'm turning the nut the bolt turns with it. Does anyone know what's on the other end of this? As far as I can tell it is (or at least is supposed to be) somehow attached to the alarm module to hold it in place. Is it just a standard bolt that I can replace if I break it trying to remove it with brute force, or is it something more specific that will be harder to replace?
  3. Thanks! I'll have a look at this tomorrow when there's some daylight so I can see what I'm doing. Once past the security cage is it a simply a case of disconnecting the old module and plugging in a new one, or does anything need reprogramming after this? Car electrics certainly aren't my strong point!
  4. Hi, recently my Octavia has been causing grief when trying to lock it. Often after about 30 seconds to a minute the alarm will go off (sometimes just the indicators start flashing but with no alarm sound). I can normally, but not always, tell the alarm is going to go off because the little red indicator light either stays lit solid after I lock the car, or it doesn't light up at all, instead of the usual regular flashing it used to do before this issue started. So far the only solution I've found is to keep unlocking and locking it again until the alarm doesn't come back on. The dash lights for open doors/boot/bonnet all work when they are open, so I can tell everything is closed and presumably there are no issues with the door sensors? I've read on another forum that the alarm can start playing up if the battery is dying, but I've checked it and it keeps a good 12.3v so I assume that's not the issue? I've also tried pressing the button on the door pillar to disable the internal motion sensors but that hasn't made any difference. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
