Need Park Assist PLA for side sensors?
I agree 110% about the sensors preventing accidents. They are incredible. We had a pretty high spec Honda CR-V a few years ago with all the driver assist and safety features available at the time and were involved in two crashes (we lived in Southern California…..they really are not good drivers). In one, the car realised the absolute ****show that was about to unfold around my wife who was 8 months pregnant at the time. It applied the brakes and pretensioned the seatbelts etc. when it detected an imminent collision with the cars in front. Apparently a biker had come off at high speed in wet weather and he and the bike went into different lanes causing everyone to jam on and a huge pile up to occur. My wife (and unborn baby) walked away without a scratch but other people weren’t as fortunate. If you don’t use the sensors on a day to day basis, that’s great, but it’s nice to have them when you do need them!

Delivery lead-time
We let our dealer know in August we’d be ordering as soon as orders opened again, and he placed our order the day that the 2022 order book opened (I think that was on the 11th of November, but I might be mistaken).

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar wait to be honest. I’d imagine VW group cars probably ship together so they might be waiting for a full shipment. Given the delays lately, that might mean waiting for a while.

I got some good news yesterday. My car left the factory. At least there are cars en route to Ireland right now even with all of the supply problems and the terrible situation in Ukraine. Hopefully you folks get good news soon.

Yeah, we’ve an iV 60 on order with most packs either in plus or standard, so we’ve quite a few extras on there. I did get an email from my dealer yesterday. He said they had movement on a large number of Kodiaqs that were also delayed so that he’s hopeful that might signal some movement might be coming down the line. I’m not so sure though.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but you should prepare for disappointment. I got an email from my dealer (also in Dublin) that physical production started on my Enyaq on the 4th of February, after being pushed back about 6 weeks from the original build date in December. It hasn’t progressed at all from that point. Almost 3 weeks in, my car is still in production. If they manage to stick to your build date I reckon you’ll be very lucky to have it by mid-April.
