  1. Hi I have tried many different cables and have connectivity issues with Android Auto although Apple Carplay is working good. Could anyone tell me if there is any FW updates for my unit please?
  2. @CristianCCI Hi, you have made some very good point here, thank for the info.
  3. Surely gutting the DPF will help the engine, no regens, can use the cheaper oil...
  4. @NikTheGeek I'm pretty sure MOT test only fails on DPF if it's visually missing or if the exhaust is emitting smoke. I did a quick bit of research too on this before replying. Emissions tests as part of MOT doesn't yet detect for soot itself from what I could find. I'm not gonna hijack this thread for this dispute if you know more regarding DPF and MOT test for people that are interested that's up to you, personally I have the DPF on my diesel and not removing. Back to oil leak: My options are going to be checking the Turbo, checking the breather hose, and if any other checks my mechanic suggests. Once the above things are checked etc I'm going to remap as a contingency plan.
  5. After figuring out how bad these engines are I would believe not often enough. I have a few ideas, I will update this thread within the next 8 weeks with my findings. Maybe Volkswagens worst engine?
  6. I had a 2.0 TDI before this that I got to 220,000 miles. CAHA engine, didn't have any oil consumption issues with that. Must be a design fault with this CUNA/CUPA engine?
  7. I'm having a similar issue too. 2.0 TDI Octavia VRS CUNA 133,000 miles. I purchased the car at 117,000 miles. Have serviced everything including DSG, even changed the glow plugs including the one with sensor. It's had quantum oil in. Seems to be drinking at least approx 0.5 litre of oil per 1000 miles. This oil consumption seems to be more active when I'm doing motorway/highway speeds, when the engine is going over 2000 revs. I'm considering a few options at the moment. I haven't yet done any mechanical inspections except check underneath for obvious leaks. I don't want to spend much money on this issue ideally but do like the car. All my online research seems to point to engine failures with piston/head etc. My mechanic when quickly speaking to him about the issue suggests I check the turbo. Also my car takes approximately 1 second longer than reckon it should take to start.
