Hi, The brakes on my car are useless, had a look and the usual vacuum line was split so I replaced that however this hasn't changed much. The brake pedal is solid and the abs does seem to work. When I popped off the vacuum line there is suction so the pump should be working fine. Any ideas where I should look next as all the threads I could find when searching were all resolved by the replacement of the usual pipe. Many Thanks

nah a lot of people laughed at the Skoda and a lot of people will laugh at the puma but they're both incredibly good cars. the puma spanks the skoda in a lot of ways, but the skoda is a lot better in many other ways. I hadn't really seen the car as at the accident i wasnt really with it but seeing it when i took the photos really was a shock! just glad i have my feet from the pedals moving together.

His car was certainly a mess and was basically snapped around the front of my car, the accident seemed to throw my car in the air and sideways down a ditch as there is barely any damage to the wheels so i must of bounced over the curb. I wont be buying another one as its a rule i have not to own the same car twice and with the recession I've taken quite a pay cut so was struggling to afford running it how it deserved to be treated. I bought a Ford Puma this weekend nice and cheap which although is no where near as safe i cant spend too much of my life worrying about it, although i don't use the same road for work any more as I had some very close calls about once a month with peoples dodgy overtakes and people skidding out of control.

the car had been untouched for 3 months whilst the police investigation was been done thus the filthy unclean car.

I had a lot of bruising and cuts etc but nothing serious, buy who hit me was in a saxo and hit me with his passenger door so you can imagine how he was. The police are pressing charges on him for careless driving and told him he was lucky not to have a passenger or he would be looking at death by dangerous driving. Shows how strong the car is though.

Oncomming car lost control on bend with a bucket load of lift off oversteer into the front of me, he was doing about 80 i was doing about 40.

The photomspaint images don't fill em with confidence however i think they have potential to look ok, maybe just with less color to the image to make the RS less OTT and a nicely refurbed set of calipers.

I used mobile 1 5w30 and never had a problem.

Zaino Z8 offers a very nice Extra finish, and also offers a little protection on top, however the best finishes come from good prep.

i think youll find its a hell of a lot more than that. it gets covered on here every few months im afraid. your much better off going Big Turbo or buying a faster car.

best one i found was from toyota for the corola, looked oem and had good signal.

there is one for sale on here cheap if it does throw up any issues.

thinking about it I don't think there much I could strip it down for as the car really is ****ed, pretty much all the windows are shattered so you can imagine the impact to of caused that.

Hi guys, Had a pretty big crash last night and my VRS is very dead (more details about crash another time). I'm getting ready for insurers to start arguing over value of it and need some help in pricing my car. I know I asked briefly a while ago and the thread was shut for fair reasons but I'm hoping this can be seen as different. 51reg 1.8t VRS 55,000 miles Magic Black Very good condition bodywork Full VAG SH till august 2007 - then I have receipts for all Items purchased for servicing to present. 6months MOT 12months Tax Remapped to circa 210bhp I'm thinking from looking on auto trader (theres not many 51 cars with low mileage) between £3500-4200, but what will they likely offer me as I'm concerned they will try and offer £3000 and not budge on it.

If i take the black plastic side off the throttle body, will i be able to get it back on? or am i going to break something in the process as its a non serviceable unit or something silly.

hmmm tempting, as i never use it anyway.

anyone know the difference?
