So, I was changing the oil on my 2010 2.0Tdi VRS DSG the other day and noticed that the plate in the picture was quite rusty. Is it under any pressure, is it likely to burst open on me?? Can I just de-rust, treat and paint?? Is it a cheap enough part that can be replaced when I service the DSG unit?

Hi all, as requested a quick intro about myself. So, my name is Charlie and i live near Abergavenny South Wales. Been here a few years after travelling around a bit but originally from the Potteries. Im into kayaking SUPing paragliding skiing and VW's. Had a few veedubs over the years from Mk1/2 Golfs and T4 transporters. Recently purchased myself an Octavia VRS diesel as I had to do a long trip to the Alps and didn't fancy taking half my garage to fix the T4 whenever it broke down!!! Here because i'm used to fixing all my VW's but not as experienced on the more modern stuff.....so gonna be reading a lot of info off here. Anyway Hi All!!
