  1. Hi folks...Just a quick update....Faulty sensor was the problem..Which led to the DPF getting full to the brim....Sensor changed ...Forced regen..Which took a long long run to actually clear...Eventually, Car returned to its normal running .Very lucky to get away with it I think...
  2. Hi all, Wifes 07 PLATE PD170 TDI VRS ..DPF /GLOWPLUG /ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT CAME UP THE OTHER DAY (SHE SAYS )...Borrowed a mates VCDS Laptop/VCDS software....To try and get to the bottom of it..Usually it's a case of get it up the road for a good run, and it clears...As I am not used to using this software I need some advice..I have found the following info ..see below copied from VCDS screen...I can't seem to get it out of limp mode in order to perform a regen properly. Just wonder of the values indicated mean that the DPF is shot..Or could it be a fault like a sensor...As I say I don't really know what I am looking for..Any help gratefully received. Cheers, Bob.
  3. Had no problems when buying the Car Brand new....but following 3 year "free servicing" was a joke.....everytime I picked car up there was something wrong....clips broken on engine cover and cover only held onto top of engine by dipstick....dipstick not replaced properly.....service manager showed total lack of interest......its only a few clips !!!! ...missed the point imo. Would not let the mechanical side near my car...rather send it to the Blind School for any works in future..why do these main agents let themselves down so very badly over these type of issues, and attempt to play down any problems we flag up... They do themselves no favours..and its a pity ..but independents get my business every time from now on....
  4. I am pretty much in the same boat as you John with this dilemma..should I take it in (its running fine ) and risk a **** up ..or wait until it becomes a problem...not sure about time limits on VOSA recalls either.....anyone have any idea..
  5. Just like to thank you all for the truly overwhelming response to this posting....
  6. Hi there, I know ESP Warning lights are a common problem, but my 07 plate TDI VRS OCTY with only 23,000 on the clock seems to have developed this problem over the last week. I had a flat battery, and was jump started last week...various warning lights illuminated including ESP (all amber) which cleared after a short drive. My wife said the ESP light has now come on again, and stays on. Have had a quick look courtesy of a neighbours VAG- COM... AND FOUND THE FOLLOWING ESP FRON Status : Permanent error electrical error in power cycle" PART SERIAL # CTA-00020.06 Does this mean the fault is caused by a dicky battery , or is this the more common indicator associated with the teves MK60 ABS/ESP /ECU FAULT Thanks in advance...PS ...I HAVE JUST HAD A BIG TOE FUSION SO HAD PINS IN TOE AND CANNOT DRIVE ...OR DO ANYTHING MUCH FOR 6-8 WEEKS SO I FEEL A BIT USELESS At PRESENT.... Thanks in advance folks Bob
  7. I travel to Germany on Business regularly, and I speak a little conversational German. But I have always found that there is always someone within all companies who speaks English (most better than some "English people" ). Just e mail them and ask them . If not let me know. Regards, Bob.
  8. Sorry if this is a repeat ,but see this link for some pictures of the new superb. Autocar - Revealed: new Skoda Superb Regards, Bob.
  9. Or Even Petrol ...dyslexia kiking inn aggainnn
  10. Can I ask what made you get the fault codes read in the first place, and how long have you had the car (some of the codes could be old ones that have not been cleared ). Is your car Perol or Diesel ?
  11. This is a real pain in the butt on these cars, and it does indeed add to the internal moisture content of the vehicle, so much so, that when I went out to mine early morning during it's first ever taste of frost, I had to scrape the inside as well of the outside of the glass. Not what you would expect to be doing to a brand new car ! I might try the silicone idea myself. Bob.
  12. The rule in our office is that anyone who Dies during Pensionable service MUST BUY CAKES FOR EVERYONE (except themselves of course! ) . But I'am afraid to date this rule appears to have been flouted . I can't see anyway of really enforcing this particular rule either !
  13. Could not agree more. Trouble is us Brits are reluctant to pull together and allow "people Power" to kick in . Unlike our "Froggy" Neighbours, who are currently voting with there feet over pension etc. Regards, Bob.
